I just came back today after having not played in a while, and for some reason by rank was set back to (0) Newbie.
Back when I used to play, your rank was nice but it ultimately didn't mean anything (INSIDE the game anyway, I'm not counting the forums because they don't mean anything either). Now apparently people don't let you on a team if you have a newbie rank?
Right now there are 10 people trying to get into the game who the Commanders will not allow because they are newbies.
How the hell do you expect to ever get people to play this game when you treat them like crap when they first start, or in my case return after a long period of time?

Thanks to the R3 release, we finally have a LARGE influx of new players.
This means that most people with a (0) actually have skill that matches their number.
Most commanders then assume that you're a total rookie.
=======================================
That being said, the commanders should be splitting the low numbers evenly. If you feel that's not being done, PM BlackViper once the game is launched, mentioning time and date and he'll look into it.

To supplement what Bard was saying, sometimes a comm who is down a player or three is also stacked-against. Letting a (#) onto his team can make the stack worse, so they leave the slot(s) open for a higher ranked player to join in the hopes that he can even out the stack a bit. Most comms are not anti-newbie... they're just trying to maintain some balance.
Now having said that, Bard's suggestion is a good one... if you really think a comm is being hostile to newbies, there is recourse.

The teams in HELO were about 110 vs 70. So Bunnywabbit was well within his rights to not accept Arven.

If your not going to accept newbs ask for autoballance to be put on, no reason to have newbs sit out just because you can't attract a decent team.
It's not people being jerks that much that will kill off most of our newbs, it's the fact that we don't even let them play the game unless they sit requesting for 15min and then get threatened to be banned when the begin spamming to join a team.

I don't believe we have a problem with commanders, its a problem with common courtesy, Stacking should be against the rules, it simply isn't fair, mind u some times people are just screwing around but a lot of the time its just so they can increase their rank without having the skill.

It simply isn't fair to be better than someone else. Ban the good players!
Your arguement is beyond retarded

People can and WILL stack any game they play, since the objective of a game is to have fun, and many people often find winning to cause said fun. By increasing your winning chances by stacking, you are therefore going to have more fun. At least, thats the way a lot of people probably think anyways /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Shiz, by that logic no reason to be playing if that person is just going to stack either... ban the stackers.

Shin, u didn't read it properly, I said that is some cases it just so they can mess around, the banning was meant for the people who just stack to rank, and have no real skill, Also I suggested something LIKE banning, maybe stackers should get a handi cap, idk I was just making a point, and I understand a lot of people just do it for fun, but all the people on the other team aren't having much fun.
