Problem Encountered at Step #:During training missions
Comments (What you tried, description, etc):"On some systems with particular videocard settings, Allegiance will
be completely black when run in fullscreen mode. Switching Allegiance to windowed mode works, but fullscreen is all black.
One user who ran into these symptoms was running an nVidia card using the ForceWare drivers. They solved their problem
by turning off the "Antialiasing" and "Antiisotroping" settings in their videocard settings.
Turning these off may resolve your problem too.
If you still can not run Allegiance in fullscreen and are still getting a "black screen", post a new topic in the Helpline
following the suggestions in the Read Me First."
Thats what I'm doing /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
I tried these and my screen still turns black after the tutorial commander says"now your craft will turn to show you how it works"
my drivers are all from the maker's websites and are up-to-date.

Do you have service pack 2 installed? If not, do it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Download, unzip and install:

Make sure you got the right language.

I've installed it and the screen still turns black except the HUD is still visible like before. I've also tried re-installing the game.

Were you able to join a real game?
Try that and ignore the training. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I guess I have no choice, but I did try on the newbie server and was totally lost, even after browzing the Allegiance academy page 3 times(yes all of it) I kept crashing into everyone and everything.I especially had trouble controlling speed of my ship (shooting is the thing I had least trouble with since I have some practice from other games on leading with my crosshairs and coming at targets from certain angles). Whats the use of having a training mission you can't use?why not get rid of it alltogether? mabey make the training like the training intro, just a walkthrough on maps and pics with voice-over?

Usually the training mission works, but sometimes it does not for unknown reasons. They are worthless anyway. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

the training missions do have their uses if you use them right (thinking of cargo management, i re-did that one several times until i figured out what it was saying and understood it).

sounds like your only problem now is finding a good keymap and control setup (as long as you don't fly with just a keyboard you should be fine /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> )

Well... I have a mouse too... I played a game yesterday on newbie server and actually helped my team!!! /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> Best feeling ever.
I also hindered though by ordering a miner by accident /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" /> but I told our comm. One thing I wish I had was just a map I could fly around to practice without a game going, even in newbie server games you can get shot down. Anyways thanks for the help.

Has anyone found a solution to this bug yet? I'm a new player, and I'm having the same problems. I wouldn't dare drive a car if I didn't know how to control it, and I'm not gonna fly around the solar system in a fighter I can't control either!
