Had a game 2 days ago where i bought 2 assault starbases (not at the same time though). The 1st i had to order around for 15 minutes before it managed to exit my home (it would just stop at the aleph and park there) the 2nd we tried to move out for 45 minutes but we never managed to get it out of any of our 4 home alephs.
Nice way to lose a game if you waste money on tech you can't use. You might want to have a look at this problem.

I never had any problem with the two Ass Sup Stars we bought in a game awhile ago. It worked just fine, even when going through camped alephs

This is common with most large ai ships, I've had carriers stuck in my home for ages simply due to a probe or something.

Was just thinking that. It was possible I suppose he was trying to have it rip, noticed it wasn't mocing then reordered it somehwere in sector and then out of sector again. Repeat and I could see how it would be very upsetting.

Ive had carriers do this before....it's pretty annoying, but i'm pretty sure it was a probe or something similar.

Nope it wasn't ripping, I didn't have any rips outside my home. If these large AI units have such major problems occasionally then maybe we should remove large AI units (make an assault starbase with a pilot seat for example). I doubt it was a probe but even then it's crazy that someone dropping a probe near an aleph (which happens occasionally esp when faced with SB /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> ) could $#@! up your entire game because your game ending tech can't leave your home /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
options :
- remove assault bases
- make them pilotable

Or...
Just fix the Carrier AI code.

How will that fix Carriers?
