Everything that needs to be said was already said in the helpline.
Excellent video editing, nice voice, great explanation (but it makes sense to current players, might need to be more in-detail for newbies).
Training videos for the win.

Brilliant. Excellent voiceovers, brilliant use of zooms.
One idea is posting the training scripts here and reiterating to arrive at something concise and effective for each topic - assuming people can relate to what works for the medium and what doesn't.

Zecro makes an excellent point, something self explanatory to one of us may not be so to a newb. That being said I know just the noob to test it out on, she is new enough that she'll prolly learn some things from some of the videos and already a good enough player to not actually NEED the video. Someone who actually NEEDs the video won't be much help...
Anglea Liu is her forum name I think...
That being said if you need someone to play a roll for filming or anything give me a heads up and I will waste hours at a time for filming this. It is very impressive and my favorite part is "lucky us, we've joined the winning team."
Oh yeah, we need a video explaining stack.

I think it's perfectly awesome, I can't say enough how uber that is.
It would work great also part and parcel with @cadet (if it's not already been mentioned).
Excellent.

Higher resolution in your capture please, that would be awsome or use another Codec.
Keep up the super work.

lawson wrote:QUOTE (lawson @ Jan 8 2007, 07:42 PM) Side note: I've got this in much better resolution; even got a DVD-compatible MPEG2 file that looks awesome on a real TV set. DivX 35MB is probably "good enough", far better than the Google Video release.

I like the video very much. Very nice voice-work too. It also gives a good idea of what the game is about, which leads me to my first suggestion:
2 suggestions:Talk on the boards seems to move towards making this part of @cadet. While it is undoubtedly a good training tool, i think it would be a shame to 'bury' this underneath an enlisting requirement. I think this is as much a promotion tool as it is an eductational tool.
Looking at this video, i can see an average joe coming out of watching this with a very good idea of what Alleg is about, along with having learned a few basic tactics in Allegiance. Which is why I think the logical place for this would either be linkage from the KB-soon-to-be-wiki or the Academy. subject suggestions:Nanning and Ramming:
topics: why must we nan, and why do we ram the bomber; what cargo to bring when preparing a nan-scout; how to line up on a bomber to ram it + different faction 'sweet spots'; moving aside for the next scout to ram; not ramming a bbr through an aleph; cross-nanning. eye, signature and probing:
involving perhaps some F3 stills with 'eye-eggs' drawn on top of them using a video-editing tool. The topic could perhaps best be explained using probing as a guiding topic. (e.g. "ews probes are usually dropped around 800m from an aleph. Why? because: <explanation> " ) Dumbfire missiles:
how to aim and when to fire them. Basic techpath information, (separate videos?): for gar coverings scouts and bombers for exp covering interceptors and troop transports. for tac covering stealth fighters, sniper vs utl, Hunter vs Killer and Stealth Bombers for sup covering figs, TP2 and complements to gartech for SY covering capshipsall i can think of for now.
very nice work. Let me know if you need help scripting or need 'actors'.
