I installed hi res rocks ,textures ,bases, yesterday and it looks
$#@!ingfantastic .
but i don't know if this is lag or the textures?
Players were jumping all over the place /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />
i was shooting ships in front of me the next second they was 1200k away /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />
it was happening a lot.
I was in front of green door just about to enter Then Poof I'm 300 k away.
I put my textures down to 256, not sure if that will help,
So is it lag or not ?
I'm not sure what lag is ?
My fps are about 61 is that good or bad ?

well u may have some experience posting in helpline...

If u can see ur FPS(alt-f) u should be able to see your lag as well, post this if u want a good answer.

The textures don't induce lag, only FPS so if ur running a high texture tolerance with 62 fps ur ok.
I run 75 fps in 1024scr size with 2048 texture tolerance. But running in lower settings don't stop the lagging.

Thats all i can help you with.. plz post more facts.

What size vid card do you have?

Also, if it is the textures killing the framerate, try the 1024^2 textures instead of the 2048^2 ones, they are 1/4 the size of the full ones. If that is still too much, we can talk about making a 512 version for you.

61 fps is great though, so it sounds more like a lag problem to me.

First off... ITS a MYTH that R3 are lagging more then R2.
This MYTH is produced by people that have none or little experience with network, but they have a tendency to cause hystreria!!.

In the Aft-F view u can see the server IP.
U can Ping this IP in your command promt.
Or use a service on the internet there is a lot of webpages that performe Connection check. Google!!
If u have further technical question regarding Lag, please ask in help line or CHECK THE KNOWLEDGEBASE.

To improve your connection.
First buy a better connection, prefer ADSL/Cable Upload is the key get at least 256 Upload and at least 256 Download.
Then chose a Strong server with a low response time and a good connection.

Hehe RP, you're evil. I'm glad you're on our side. I like that kind of evil unless it's being done to me.
