I was diggin through one of my old directories putting music on my MP3 player and I ran across this and thought I would post it. This was a datanet report from back in the day. In fact I think the second report was on Fatal Shadows, FS if I am not mistaken. Anyways, if I run across anything else I'll post it.

Report Filed By: “ Smooth”
In an effort to gain insight into the organization among the various factions, I have been dispatched to
seek out leaders of squads and independent rogues and attempt to question them about their operations. On
my very first assignment, a clandestine journey to meet an operative in a Bios occupied sector, the transport
I was on was attacked. Twenty civilians, including myself found ourselves prisoners of a Bios commando unit.
I was forced to break my cover to avoid a trip to the “enhancement” station. The commander of the Bios unit,
call sign “Kumquat”, felt I served a better purpose continuing my mission and delivering his message to the IC
and Gigacorp leaders. My digicorder implant captured the following dialogue between us:
Smooth: I notice you and your men are very tall, taller than any bios I’ve seen before…
Kumquat: that’s because my men and I are specially enhanced, only the finest bios become “Hell’s Bandits”.
Our squadron has a history dating back to the first world war on Earth. We all bear the mark of
our lineage. ( shows me a tattoo on his arm of a sword surrounded by a serpent. )
Smooth: Can you tell me why you chose to become bios voluntarily ?
Kumquat: I feel that humanity is in a stage of evolution, and we are the next step, a blending of superior technology
genealogy. Resisting the evolution only helps to weed out the unworthy.
Smooth: Can you share some insight into your “superior” technology with me?
Kumquat : I’m afraid I can’t go into specifics, though I can tell you I grow impatient sometimes with our designers.
in their drive for perfection, they often seem to delay our movement forward.
Smooth: I often wonder just where you gain your recruits from, most people are afraid of your so called “ enhancement”.
Kumquat: You would be surprised how many people wish to join our family. Anyone who deems themselves worthy may
present themselves to me for analysis. I receive many encoded messages requesting this.
Smooth: You said I was going to be set free to continue my mission, in exchange for delivering your message….
Kumquat: My message is this, no matter who you are, or where you are, be wary. We can strike anytime, anywhere
and the day of choosing your Allegiance is before you, choose wisely.
Smooth: Where is Longstreet ?
Kumquat: ( cough ), I don’t know what your talking about…
Smooth: Well, may I ask what your people hope to accomplish by enhancing the universe? What form of government
do you hope to instill?
Kumquat: You want information that I will not give you . ( looking angry)
Kumquat: Is there anything else burning in your curiosity? ( moving towards me )
Smooth : Umm, no I’m good. I think may I leave is the next logical question.
Kumquat: You may leave, but after you serve my purpose I think I would like to meet you again. ( Smiles)
Smooth : Sure, we can get together and have a drink sometime or…
At this time the recording ends. I awoke in a pod, some 3 hours later, with a sore neck and arm.
Examining my arm, I was shocked to find I had been given the tattoo of the Hells Bandits. I can only assume
this will guarantee that should I be captured by the bios again, I will be delivered to Kumquat, a fate I do not
intend to allow. Examining the coordinates of the pod, I discovered I was heading towards a sector I had never
before heard of. I could only hope to be rescued before my oxygen supply ran out.
