I was forced to buy a IC SY (without any tech bases) a while back and I noticed that IC gets NO ships in their SY.

I know you need medium SY to get MF but it's ridiculous that you don't get corvettes in light SY. Anyone know the reasoning for this?

IC is a bit special, if you have a tech base, you don't need to buy light class, if you don't, you will need to buy lt class. I think lt class and a tech are about the same price so it's in your best interests to get the tech.

Still no corvs though as I recall.

that's just stupid isn't it? i can understand slowing down MF rushes but wtf does IC need to spend over 30k to get Corvs? As it is IC will be mf rushed by other factions with better econ before it can even get their MF up. the idea is this:

other factions need to get a techbase before they can get SY

ic can get sy at the start, but then they mf rush

now, we could make it so ic is the same as others and have to get a tech base to slow them down, but then that removes special ic feature.

how to let ic buy sy at the start, and keep them slowed down?

make them research lt class for the same price as a tech base.

so it is the equivelent of them buying a tech base, and an sy.

it encourages comms to get a tech first, then sy, not just sy rush, but they can if they want.

basically ic is the same speed to sy as others, but it gives others a chance to get a tech

In other words:

ignoring giga and IC, buy tech, buy sy, (now have corvs) buy med class to get mfs.

IC buy sy have nothing, buy med class OR buy tech base to get mfs. In the old world you had to buy mfs after getting sy as IC so time to mf and $ to mf is about the same. So you don't need to have 30k to have access to mfs.

I still don't think they get corvs at all though.

I'll double check later, but from memory:

IC SY gets Lt Class (with Corvs) for free when either Med Class is developed or a Std Sup/Exp/Tac exists. This is meant to keep them from rushing Lt Class too quickly.

IC has never had Destroyers (unchanged from MS 1.25), however on DN, the primary Destroyer Missile (XRM Hunter Killer) is mountable on IC Frigates, Cruisers, Battlecruisers & Battleships.

IC SY Class research cost is +20% above normal, however, each cap ship costs -20% than normal.

Also note that Belters and Giga don't get Super Hvy Class (Battlecruisers & Battleships), but Giga does get a Lxy Cruiser in Hvy Class.

I can understand you trying to limit MF rushes but I don't like the fact that IC doesn't even get corvettes in light sy. Besides that it currently makes belt (or even nix/gt/giga) cap rushing faster than IC cap rushing, to me that kinda rapes the IC idea /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Actually if u take in consideration mining speed and yeald capacity nix is the fastest faction to sy rush , u get lt class , med class .
And if u take the shields boost in consideration they are quite powerful
