Hey guys,

Was wondering if any art Pros could recommend me a program for editing pictures

I have heard Photoshop is good for the job, but maybe there are others =]

It rather depends on what you want to do but I would suggest GIMP. It's free and there are plenty of online tutorials to help you learn it. All in all a very good Photoshop alternative.

Uhmm

My experience is:
Photoshop: Have many plugins and are easy to export to other programs, this program is what i use now, mostly because of the compatibility between many good programs.
GIMP: is young in its evolution but is getting better, is the good alternative to PS.
Coraldraw: Bitmap and Vector editor in one package. Was the first program i started to use, it still got many things IA(illustrator) and PS don't have.
Paintshop pro: Good overall bitmap editor still lack many features to become a PS.

Try the artist sites... google. Start using any program with a good evolution(is updated). Don't just stick to one program, be versatile!! Have fun. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
