Hello, I have a Geforce 6 card with the latest video drivers, 1GB of RAM, 40GB of free HD space, with an AMD Turion 64-bit X2 1.6GHz CPU.

Whenever I play Allegiance (online or training) the 3D view has only about 1 frame per second. Switching resolutions or effects (lens flare, particle density etc.) all have absolutely no effect.

When I play a game like UT2004 it plays flawlessly !! -- Any ideas??

Okay. I tried Sound Quality: Low-High / Sound card acceleration On-Off and all combinations of that but it had no effect...

Any other ideas?

The problems you experience have nothing to do with your video card, they are caused by the sound card.
What kind of sound card are you using? Have you tried the latest drivers for it?

Thanks for the replies guys, but nothing worked...

I've tried different video drivers...

My sound card (or chip, more like it) is a crappy one (Conexant HD) so I thought that may be it .. but I tried disabling it altogether in Device Manager and then playing the game ... it had no effect.

Any more ideas . . ? ?

Does your videocard have its own settings section?

In that section, is there a checkbox for "anti-aliasing" or something else like it? Try turning it off.

Turn off forced AA and AF. That should fix it.

What operating system?
What specific version of video card?
What version of Direct X?
Have you run the Direct X tests in dxdiag?

I realize other games probably play just fine, but Alleg (even though it uses
DX9 calls now) was set up to run on fairly old system.

What color depth are you running in?
Windowed mode or full screen?
Try 16-bit and full screen, 800x600 or 1024x768

You using an LCD or CRT monitor? I ask because there are options to sync to refresh and if you have a LCD sometimes the refresh info gets 'messed up'.

So while flying everything is extremely jerky?
