I'm trying to sign up to ASGS with my current forum username as my callsign, but the box only fits 10 characters. How can I get a longer name? I've seen several people with names longer than 10 characters on the 'Who's Online' page.

Their names were "Grandfathered in" before the newest ASGS program.

The base nick size is only 10 letters for everyone (except for people who've help callsigns before the current ASGS, as Freeza pointed out). People have tokens (?, +, *, ^) etc prefixed and squad tags (BS,GB,PK, etc etc) and age-ranks suffixed to their base nick.

I really want 11 characters, most callsigns I like have 11 characters. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Well, nevermind then. But the reason I wanted a new account was that I discovered that my old account, General_freak (which hasn't been used for over a year) has mysteriously gone up from a rating of 2 to 15. Basically, that's my rating after playing the game for three weeks and then taking a year-long break...

EDIT: Hm, can I ask to get it changed? I mean, I've seen someone get banned because he literally asked for it. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

You can create as many new accounts as you want, you will receive the same rank as the other account. Your new accounts would be linked to the old one. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
It is a safety measure against all sorts of bad behaviour.
Sadly (?), you gotta learn the hard way.

I took two years off to come back and find that I had a rank 7 and I tried the same thing. You will just have to play on the regular server, play some games with uber competitive comms, get booted once or twice then figure it all out and turn into a less than average voob untill you play for a while, join @cadet and really get your "A" game on.
