P.s - we really do read these and discuss solutions in the code development and senate forums.

All the argumentation aside, on the mouse during launch, an on screen indicator of whether or not Virtual Joystick was on and/or being able to turn it off during the animation would be nice.

Also, in the lobby, clicking on other than a name should turn off PM.

I wish I could think of something really bad about faz r2... the only thing that comes to mind is that the ranks displayed (0)-(30) should be seeded with an extra '0' if the rank is (0)-(9), thus making it look symetrical and balanced.

Now, don't go and cry. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />

The debug messages in crash log is not comprehensive enuf its needs more debug messages so the coder can pinpoint where we shale test to reconstruct the situation/error...
U cant sort on Rank and 1 other(cant remember) in game stats...
There is a need for dedicated testers... and a forum for these folks.. so we can have a network of players that test the errors and process the Bug reports that are posted...

Thx

It's all good except for the lack of option to disable mouse in the launch animation. It would be super great to have it for the next release.

Thanks.

--------------------- Mouse on launch --------------------

this is proof that we read the posts shiz ( and stainrat will fix it i think )

the mouse thing "is" under attack by the devs.

-------------------- Player PM in lobby should turn when you click off of a player

yes that is a choice that is also possible to do but it "is not" under attack by the devs right now.

We settled on the way it works so that you could click on afk or team chat - or accept, lock, team ready etc and not lose your private channel to you bud until you select another player or click on the current selected player to turn it off on purpose.

it's nice to be able to talk to the PM channel while you are in noat and still be able to listen to "all" when you want to by clicking on the team chat button to toggle it when it is flashing.

it is a lot harder to keep clicking on the player to turn the PM back on after every click on something else.
we tried it.

Give it a little time and you will see that it's pretty nice after you get used to it.

And if we all think it sucks later, then we can fix it a different way.

---------------- Debug messages suck

yeah, they do

in order to be useful we need to slice out all of the info messages and just put out debugging background data with an error code or dump data that we can actually use.

Future = maybe "very future".

about the same time that we get the staff that you mentioned. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
and yes we want them too. Where ever they are.

---------------- The Rank Display makes the game look all messy

well, yeah - it does. Next time out (R3 or earlier) we will nail that one ..

it "is" being attacked.

--------------------

thanks to each and everyone one of you for telling us off. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Whatever the default wing is, drone commands should be echoed to that wing. We all change to the command wing anyway, so either make command the default wing or echo messages to the attack wing (or whatever wing is default). After all, isn't the whole point of a default to meet most people's needs, most of the time?

------------------------- Default Wing

I personally agree that the default wing should be command.

Almost everyone in every game is on command wing. And they almost always have been.

So why is the default attack ?

Well the R2 beta had the default set to command at first. Then somebody decided that drones and cons and everything in the world should spam its messages to command wing and a few others.

Well, some one was worried that this spam noise would make it really hard for newbies to hear what is going on.

So for some obscure reason and without a vote they changed the default wing back to attack.

How is it possible for the majority to get what they want when 1 vote = everything?

..................................... Messages

the wing wouldn't matter much if the messages went to all wings.

I suppose we could "channel" things like "con channel"

Personally I don't think the wings have much use for us. It is very rare to use something different except to decrease spam.

For wings to be actually useful we need to have an option menu to select all of the channels ( yeah - more than one ) that we want and save that setting for us.

To carry that thought forward, how about a communication group menu to select all of the players for a group channel?

then the bomb run could have their own channel. the defenders, the scouts etc.

This probably won't happen right away.

So until then you need to figure out how to vote in "command wing" for president!!!!

I did and they impeached him!!

Actually, from what I remember - during the beta tests there were people who did not like being put on command wing by default because of the excess chatter. They reminded the devteam of the newbie's point of view...

We all forget how HARD this game was to learn in the first place. Learning how to manouver your ship, learning how to communicate, and learning how to understand the HUNDREDS of icons/glyphs that indicate to us what is happening around us and around the map. This plethora of information takes long enough to learn, let alone having your chat scroll 4 lines at a time when the commander moves all of his miners away.

Radar, I think the decision to leave the default as attack was made when you had left the devteam so you weren't privvy to that discussion. Since the majority of players on a team are usually attacking instead of commanding, the "default" of attack makes sense. It's easy enough for us skilled veterans to choose "Command" wing.
