Really slow start. Home tele, op low - moderately aggressive placement but doesn't get used. 2nd tele out and I haven't seen any of their cons. Start to send it midlow then notice they built something there; am a bit stumped as to what to do with it, then notice someone killed enemy tele con midhigh, so send it there instead - builds next to exp rock. Enemy ref in next sector.
Get an expansion and 2nd op out, exp builds mid high and enemy bomb run comes through from the ref. It camps and loses eye. Meanwhile I try to send op down through centre and it dies detecting the bomb run coming up from there. 3rd op out and I still want to send it centre again, but in transit discover they have a tele there. Blue team launch repeated bomb runs from there against our exp, but team does a great job of d. With a lack of other ideas, I stick op midhigh left in their ref sector. At this stage blue has a tele high, another centre, op midlow right, exp midlow centre.
Really scraping for money and end up mining in enemy sectors, ripping miners if someone launches to kill them. I'd like to thank yellow team for doing a good job camping enemy tele centre while I mine. Finally have hvy ints and bombers and int bomb their tele centre, follow it up with an op which I build behind the aleph. Somewhere around this stage tf ints start harrassing my miners heavily, and I kind of lose control being out of base all the time.
From this op team does a great job int bombing their exp (although it took two attempts), then we reform midhigh and hit their garr. Although we get it blue caps our garr at the same time. (and btw, some dumb scout flew in front of one of my abs.) Very nice work by blue on the cap.
I quickly spend what little cash I have (which I'd been saving for HTTs) on a tele and op. I'm surprised when they pop out at my op low (I always assumed they popped out your techbase if you lost the garr), and very pleased cause I had already judged that the low aleph was closest to our old garr. Send tele in to claim their old home (btw did blue ever have a home rip?), and op behind aleph again.
Defend against a bomb run from midhigh right at our exp, then redeply team at new op low right. Final bomb run, and I panick at tf bbr d and almost aborted (I think rip was down to 3), but a (2) kept me alive. Yay for noobs! I recover my wits and bomb our old garr. Blue resigns before we blow the base.
All in all, a slow game to get started, bit of back and forth - trying to hurt each others economy, and some of those runs on our exp had me on the edge of my seat - and quite enjoyable. Kinda game which makes me want to comm again.
