I think people here is quite tolerant with drunk spellers anyway*. Some even command games.
* as long as you don't call heavy ints 'hints'.

Welcome newbies!
Most of the game is really theory, the rest is learning to fly. Once you get the main idea/gist of the game down the rest will be pretty easy.
Good luck out there

Busted my mic last week playing bf2142 but will get a replacement in a week or so.

Edit: this may be relevant: why play Alleg? Well, played EnB, then to SWG:JTLS. Both were a good fix for space gaming, but EnB was canceled and SWG took a nasty turn with the NGE update some years ago. Considered playing EVE, but it's a two year journey before one can truly be effective in PvP... which is unnerving as it's PvP centric. I still may play EVE, but at least I can get my PvP fix here. Not much else out there, other than the many limited/non-network space games I've played. I'm also very fond of opensource, mods/conversions and having spent years in the indie dev circles. Strange I've never come across this site before, I was researching any new development on Babylon 5 indie/fan games at the time.

Welcome Roguewolf!
I think you will find Alleg very rewarding if you get past the frustrating period.

Hey, my name is Shane, I'm from Ireland. Looking to get into Allegiance over the winter break.
That escapist article brought me here. This game looks amazing. Perhaps when I finally get past those effing training missions I might see some of you online.
