I'm starting to think that ultimately Camaro just doesn't like the USA, and would prefer to see ~50 individual countries in it's place.

Here's a brief that I found that talks about the Constitutionality of the ACA and contact details if you want to interrogate the experts. Summary: it's perfectly Constitutional for a number of reasons, and the arguments that arose when the law passed have been fabricated.

I can't support the provision that mandates coverage. It should be the person's choice to buy healthcare or not.

On that same tone, I'm the type of person that thinks, "No coverage? Pay up front for your medical bills or go back home."


Sadly, that's not what happens. No coverage? GO TO THE ER!!

I just think he wants the fed to manage a few small things and let the states do everything else. I disagree wholeheartedly, although i think the government needs to get new priorities.

Sundance's idea of "no money, no care" is ridiculous i think. You'll be singing a different tune when you find yourself treating a very expensive condition and lose your house and livelihood because you get stuck with stupid huge medical bills.

Naw, man, I pay for health insurance. It's dumb not to have. And with Minnesota Care, Ucare, and Medical Assistance, there's NO excuse to not have insurance in Minnesota. Our welfare healthcare is really really good.

That being said, IF I make the choice to risk not having insurance, the federal government of all people/entities should NOT be the one telling me I have to pay a fine.


That's why I wish hospitals would turn away the idiots that just letting their bills skyrocket with no attempts to pay them off.
It's increasing MY bills. I sliced my knuckle open last year... and it was TWO HUNDRED FORTY DOLLARS for stitches... AND I had to wait in the damned ER room for 3 hours before they worked on me because of some crackhead in the next room the cops were dealing with. Great to know I paid for his hospital evaluation...

(yes, it was a crackhead. one of the two officers standing by was in my graduating class)

An example of the bigger problem:

I have an aunt who takes her children into the ER for EVERY LITTLE DAMN THING that goes wrong with them, because she's on state healthcare. It's nothing to her... state pays all the damned bills.

When I roll my ankle and can't walk for two days, I have to guess as to if it's broken or just sprained... 'cause it's gonna cost me ~$120ish to go in for an X-ray...

I agree with you there, ER is for emergencies plain and simple. I dont know any solution to that, people generally tend to play it on the safe side when it comes to health.

People who meet their deductible for the year or people who don't care about their credit play it on the safe side.

My wife and I are in for over $800 still with her gyno due to her having PCOS. :S *sigh*
