Do you voobs mean the MS-1?

It's IMO the best tier 1. You can get a mean gun on it and then it can 2 or 3 shot most tier1/tier2 tanks.

It also can mount the highest accuracy russian gun.

It's not the fastest tier 1, but it's very well rounded.

Well, that does it - if peet likes it, I'm in. You bums play on the Euro server, eh? Think I'll try that then. When you do generally gather? My game nick is PhreeBeer. (Some scum stole my proper spelling. He gonna pay! )

PS: Any recommendations for starting out, or a linky to a good starter's guide? I'm in the process of reading the manual (yeah, I'm weird - I like to RTFM).

Yeah russian MS-1 is a great starting tank. I have one maxed out (thats easy to do on the starters) and got something like 6 kills in one match with it today. It's a very nice balance of speed (kinda slow but not too slow), armor, and a very decent gun.

Biggest thing I have found so far is take the time to learn the maps, and don't rush. The spotting/detection system is a little busted, but it's easy to hide behind bushes and wait for the morons to come to you. If you do advance do it in a group.

The forums have a ton of newbie guides that will help too.

Camping doesn't win games, Lanchester's laws does.

It is kind of weird. I only got 1 kill in the games I played so far, the tiny Ruski tank was blown to pieces almost each time, yet somehow I got "elite" status

Accelerated learning for the crew, now they actually see the enemy tanks.

Also nice, you can hide inside the "invincible" box inside your base, watch the enemy tanks waste ammo at you, they see you but can not hit you, and than slowly crawl out to - try to - hit them Of course some annoying enemy found out my little stalking trick and lobbed shells over the fence

Same as Icky, I get anywhere from 150-200 ping and don't notice any problems at all. In fact I've never seen anyone jump. The only bad thing about the EU server is when I'm on late at night and most Euros are in bed, matchmaking really takes a huge steaming @#(!. Nothing worse than a heavy tank who thinks he's invincible and gets himself killed . . . .

USA tanks FTW. Although I just went from the basic M4 Sherman (tier 5) to the M4A3E8 (tier 6) and am disappointed . . . the former gets a 105mm cannon and is absolutely amazing, but the latter is stuck with an admittedly nice M1A1 or M1A2 gun, which are both accurate and fast with decent penetration, but are useless most of the time since matchmaking puts me up against tier 7/8 heavy tanks. Normally with the 105mm I would rip them to shreds but I really have to get some good shots in with AP or switch to HE to do anything useful.

Can't wait to get to the Pershing, though. Oh Freebs you might be interested to know you can get a Ram-II (although I think it's premium).
