At this stage I can neither confirm nor deny that I am working on Allegiance III.
All I will say is that the responses KGJV has generated have been noted and we would like to thank him for his work.
If there was an Allegiance III, the community would be far more transparent than either this Allegiance or Allegiance 2. So transparent you may not even be able to see it with the naked eye, although visuals wouldn't be our primary focus. The audio would be above the range of the human ear. You will would need to have a canine co-pilot to take full advantage of our next generation sound effects.

Without diving TOO deeply into the drama, I'd like to comment on the one thing we did in the past to alleviate the 'owner disappearance/death' scenerio, which IS a perfectly valid concern.
As some of you may already know, we actually have two domains to run the community: freeallegiance.org and alleg.net. KGJV had originally aquired alleg.net to run the 'back office' systems... authentication, lobby, game servers, etc. Back then allegHQ was the website/domain that was more or less the 'face' of the community. I had aquired freeallegiance.com when I was still in talks with Microsoft to purchase the rights/source code to Allegiance. Eventually, I had put up some forums under freeallegiance.org when allegHQ poofed, and though it ended up being the 'face domain' and alleg.net remained the 'systems domain', they backed each other up. As an example, http://www.alleg.net/ to this day still points to these forums, though I'm not sure exactly how anymore since I've given away all my old 'keys'. Point is, if I had poofed, the community could continue under alleg.net, and conversely could continue under freeallegiance.org should KGJV have poofed. In all fairness, KGJV had given me his account/login to his Network Solutions account should we have needed to do anything immediately. Only after I found out he was not going to pay to renew alleg.net did I 'take' the domain for myself so as to keep it in operation. Though I ended up having both domains myself, I kept them on separate registrars and other trusted individuals had my login and passwords to those accounts. Point I guess I'm trying to make is this: If you truly want redundant community resources (at least as far as DNS is concerned), two different people on two different registars should keep the two domains separately. This way, no one can completely hijack the other, nor will the community poof if one or the other should expire and disappear.

The whole 'who owns the community' by means of the hardware it runs on has been an age-old concern/debate/worry/fight since back when I 'owned the whole shebang'. This will never be solved to all people, but once again, it all comes down to trust. If you trust the person(s) keeping your community running and healthy, then quit attacking them publicly to try to get your own way (this is directed at EVERYONE, NOT just KGJV).

You were instrumental in getting the community and it's systems created in the first place. The past few years, however, I can't help but feel you only 'bother' to show your face in this community when it can serve your personal interests. This is not a personal attack, but an observation (personal opinion, if you will) developed over time.
Also, the 'ultimatum' is laughable at best. We have no responsibility or duty to provide you marketing or demographics information. You of all people should know that detailed hardware and OS/software information only gives potential hackers/griefers more ammunition to use against us. Demanding such information be publicized I feel is very irresponsible on your part. I also have to give TE a hand-slap for making it public. If you felt the need to give him the information, it's my opinion you should have done that in a PM. KG, If your investors really are that serious, they should already have their own systems architechture and/or designs and policies in place. I can only imagine you're trying to use the community as a 'target audience' or 'demographic example' for whatever backers/investors you have in some project very important to you.
People have threatened to split the community for YEARS, and have also made perfectly valid and serious attempts to do so. It's simple: People (generally) trust this community, or they would have flocked to any number of these other 'alternate communities' long ago.
However, I also can't help but feel that you DO have the community's interests at heart in at least some of these things, but the method which you're choosing to employ only makes people much LESS inclined to trust you with such high-level responsibilities.

This is it for me. Thalgor/Pook/Tigereye have kept this running with their own time & effort over these years, and have kept everything working. They come across as sane, responsible individuals, & because of all of this I trust them and have no issue with the situation.
