Okay I think I've fixed the Opera bug. Someone with opera, sort the columns and let me know if the "order" value is properly appearing in the "order" column instead of the "ranking" column as before

In addition, a careful observer pointed out to me that I am retarded. The newbie-protection threshold is at (5) not at (8).
I've updated the rank-forcing-thingie to force players with rank < 5 to a 5 if their sigma is less than 6.25.

Sorry to those few people inbetween (5) and (8) who just dropped from a (8) to their true rank

two  s make a :D

PS: Why are you guys fighting about possible new ranking systems?

That happened 2 years ago after H/ELO had been out for a few months and it was clear there were some issues with it.
Now it's happening less than 24 hours after the new system was switched on.

Perhaps we should wait a few more minutes before criticizing it?
If I keep switching ranking systems every time someone tells me they know of a better/faster/stronger/prettier ranking system, I'll have to quit my job and change my title from "Community Administrator" to "Ranking System Rotator."

Let's give this one a chance before changing it, k?

Nobody suggested a new system. Just the usual questions associated with such things. All is :) .

I think I understand Hotnoob, I'll try and translate for him.

Okay. Example.

A bad player, lets call him SirChaos, sucks badly at the game. He changes to a mouse and gets much better. As he continues to win games AS thinks he should lose his sigma goes up along with his mu, causing no conservative rank change until the sigma starts going back down as AS expects him to win.

Hotnoob just suggested fixing it so the conservative rank will go up straight away instead of delayed.

Hotnoob also seems to think people are leaving because they are ranked lowly [and probably correctly]

He is of course wrong in that point, only he cares enough about his rank to leave.

People just take stuff too seriously I think. Except IB, of course.

Hm that's what others took his words to mean too.

Man I miss that smiley.
Thanks TB for kicking me in the butt for it.
