Any ship caught within a DEB shield is immediately shoved to the closest position that is not within the DEB shield.

Unless, of course, you made the DEB shield hollow. Which is nigh-impossible to do for a sphere. Could be a box, though

Awesome, that solves Ramaglor's problem about defending from galv runs and the like - ships that launch from the base would just pop out outside the shield.

Anywho, could you envelope an asteroid in a DEB shield to prevent a con from building on it?

What if you deployed the DEB as the con already starts to build?

So if you use a DEB on an aleph or base any ship coming through is shunted to the outside of the sphere? Doesn't sound like there would be a problem with base camps or an issue with alephs (except for the obvious)

The problem is the whole popping out of the shield part. Alleg doesn't handle well when two objects occupy the same space.

The con would move to the side outside of the DEB shield and continue to build.

The build event starts and then continues regardless of where the con is. I've seen it happen.

Couldn't you create a "soccer ball" of independent flat pieces, so defenders could shot down just the one in front of their exit? It would need FF on or something similar, though.

i think it would be cool to have a ship that not only can cloak but emits a big purple blob of cloaking around it self (or an invisible blob) cloaking the friendly ships (up to a reasonable number). that would be cool. sneak in with 900000 ints to rape a gar

Not as one thing. You'd have to put it as several unique objects

Then huge disk shaped missiles with zero speed. Sort of a bonus defensive tech for proxxing scouts. They can be aimed to the desired orientation, or targeted to make them face an enemy.

Defenders only need to shield a side of the base to force an enemy bbr to take a longer route or bomb through it. If they are rather small/short lived but 1$ a piece, they'll scale with game size.
