Funny thing, three games in a row last night, were played with imbalance n/a, until the GC commander woke up. Know what? Most of those games were pretty damn even until the very end when the losing side dropped players...

no one said games with imbal = NA can't be balanced.
i only said that you can't claim that someone waited until someone joins the other team before joining their team with imbal = NA as they could have joined that team anyway

...so are you saying that stacking isn't a huge problem after all? Because I was in NOAT for all those games, and this was definitely the case. Stacking, in my opinion, is not a huge major problem comparable to cheating or even lagjumping. That is to say, the community isn't dying because of it. Been playing for two years and it's only getting stronger. AllegSkill? HiRes graphics? New factions and cores? New servers? There is so much being done to improve Allegiance.
I play both US primetime and late night almost everyday and even latenight games are often equal, I would say 5 or 6/10 games. US primetime, definitely 7/10 games. The main problem are voob commanders against pro commanders, but in terms of team balance, there are a great many antistackers that help keep games even I've seen.

Well, there are obviously 2 schools of thought at play here.
The first includes players who see stacking as a bad thing. Those players try to do their best to keep teams even so that the games are most enjoyable for everyone.
Then there are the group of players who stack most games. They are usually the same players, and it is obvious that they are more concerned with winning over lesser teams. These wins dont mean much as typically it is near impossible for the other team to win (although it does happen). It would be a simple chore to compile the list of notorious stackers. They know who they are, and I would think they would be against any type of enforcement of an anti-stacking rule. (Please understand I am not saying that just because you disagree with BV on this ban that you are a "stacker"...I do think the policy needs to be clarified a little more extensively)
Personally, I think stacking is very bad for the game. And for those of you who think the community is "flourishing", please think of all the players who no longer play because of this problem. Also think of all the new players who stop playing Allegiance because of it. It is a very large player pool. Allegiance would have a much, much larger community if we kept stacking in check.
I am not going to comment on the specific ban per se because I am not inside BV's or TE's head...face value, the ban does seem long.
But please think about this....we wouldnt be at this point if some of our players had some sense of maturity and actually cared about the community and haveing fun, even matches. We should be able to police ourselves...but it doesnt happen.
Me personally, I cant say I have never stacked since I started playing Allegiane in Beta. I can say I do my damnest to join the team that needs me the most. I will typically wait to join what I perceive as the "weaker" team if need be. I dont find any sense of accomplishment or joy in beating a team that has no chance to win due to lack of skill level. I rarely join the higher ELO team.
One more tidbit, if you join a game with even teams early and then your team gets stacked....I think we are all smart enough to realize that you didnt stack the game....it was the latecomers.

I agree with you Checkmate, I hate stackers and stacked teams, I always leave when I see a stack, or try to join the stacked team, but with the new rule, I am confused!
