This will most definitly be a great help to my constructor knowlege.

QUOTE New informationDrizzo wrote:QUOTE (Drizzo @ Feb 6 2008, 10:11 AM) Okay the main post has been updated with a boldfaced heading called New Information, taking the words of Factoid mostly, I've updated a few points to the constructor mechanics so it would be more accurate. Hopefully the information helps you in your endeavours in the tauceti sector.
Cheers
Based on the knowledged loaned to us from individuals such as Factoid, you can only ram a large constructor successfully off of its build line while it has less hull then you do. Since the collision code was amended to taking your hull/shields into account, rather then your current speed and momentum, we get more accurate collisions. It is possible to ram a large con, it just has to be about half-dead in order to get the result you want, which would be delaying it from going in.[/quote]
Ergh... there's so much wrong with this paragraph.
1) Collision code was fixed to make collision damage reciprocal. It has always been based off of HP + SP AND Change in Momentum from the impact, it was just that when you ran the collision function for A vs. B, you got a different result from B vs. A.
2) I didn't make any claims as to 'when' you can start ramming the con without exploding. I could do the math, but while I suppose 'less hull than you do' works (since MS 2 is only 350 HP), you could probably get away with higher values than that. "About half-dead" is not 350 for most large cons. Since most large cons have around 3000 hull alone.
"I make it a point not to chat with AP off... space is vast, but it's never vast enough for my scout."
Of course you didn't make any claims, otherwise I would have directly quoted you /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
If you feel it's not suitable, key up a replacement and I'll be more then happy to use it instead.

What if you run into the large constructor with like... a battleship?
Wouldnt that stop it from allignment if you ram it at full speed?
Or would the constructor just laugh and push its 50000 ton ass out of the way effortlessly

FYI: The constructor does not need to be on it's build line to be impossible to ram. I rammed a Pali con yesterday and podded my int while the con was turning towards the rock. It was not lined up yet. You would think that podding yourself on a con, regardless of the size, would affect it's attempt to build. It's got too much mass probably.
The difference there mrK is that once a con is lined up it cannot be rammed off the rock. When you hit the large pali con it was like a fly on it's windshield, if you'd been a cap ship it'd have been more like an elephant hitting it. You did ram it and divert it but by a tiny ammount and the con essentially carried on regardless.
Cons on their build line can be jilted by missiles. The con will *wiggle* and still attempt to line up whilst dodging the missile in one motion, such a motion keeps it on the rock, preventing it from going *in* the rock. This utterly destroys factions with cons that have a slow line up (belters, IC, GT, BIOS, Rix) if there are ships that are capable of firing missiles in the vicinity.

This sentence is misleading. Pali cons cannot be rammed, lined up or not. I has nothing to do with lining up but rather with it's mass.Raveen wrote:QUOTE (Raveen @ Mar 19 2008, 09:52 AM) The difference there mrK is that once a con is lined up it cannot be rammed off the rock. regardless.
