madpeople wrote:QUOTE (madpeople @ Jul 30 2007, 11:44 PM) well, i think one thread in general for something this cool is ok.
I don't.
madpeople wrote:QUOTE (madpeople @ Jul 30 2007, 11:44 PM) but i think the general policy is a misc dev thread, then if there is a question else where that vaguely relates to what you have done, you can then make a post responding to the topic, with a "by the way, did you know i made
this and it will make you happy?"
That's perfectly fine in my books.
BackTrak wrote:QUOTE (BackTrak @ Jul 31 2007, 01:38 AM) I understand your point, and the need for the development forums. I initially talked to Tigereye before I posted the first release, and he suggested that I post it in both the General and Development forums. After looking at the number of views in both locations, it was pretty obvious that the audience I was trying to reach was hanging out in the general branch, so for the next version, I just posted into General. I'm very excited about this application, and I would love it if others find it useful and game enhancing as well, so I do hope that you'll allow me a little exuberance. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Well, if TE suggested to crosspost, then it's obviously okay on this board. I just know that for example in the Usenet, crossposting or posting in the wrong forum is the easiest way to get a bad reputation. But I'm not a mod, so my opinion counts as much as anyone else's.
I thought we had the news items on the front page for that kind of advertising.
