You know at first I was going to talk about how this was a bad idea... then I realized. Only one faction right now consistently defends vs figbees, and that's technoflux. Maybe making them bigger and/or slower isn't such a bad idea.

Of course they're already pretty damn slow... 110 m/s max (with boosting).

Why not increase rip time.

By maybe 1 or 2 secs?

Because then the figbee AI will get confused and reset the rip counter. :D

Brood and I were actively testing figbees last night and no joke we killed about 20 people in one go. Now granted this was a fully maxed out Figbee(with me flying and Broodles turreting) but we were up against Ints (though 2 of our kills were sfs) and were killing waves of them.

That seems to be an awful lot of killpower for such a craft...
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

Perhaps you are experiencing the "un-known cheese" phenoninom - where something is actually cheese ad doing something, but none has tried using it for that.

My suggestion is you comm a few more games, max out your FBs, and get people to take them with turrets to go a whoring + miner hunting / con pushing etc - things people usually wouldn't think to do with [what they think is] a bomber, and see if opinion in this thread changes after a few games like that (and after other comms try it). - you could start a new fashion!

How did you guys manage that spidey?

Sure a KB40+ broodwich in the mini AC 3 turret deals out the hurt, and you have 3 gat 3's + missiles... but the hull is really fragile and the fuel reserves really sad. Then again, with ss 3 hull isn't that important.

The fuel is low, yes. However the hull is the same strength as an advanced fighter, so its not really fragile either.

What?

I'd swear on my grandmothers grave that it at least hasn't been so... but it may be that I'm just going senile. I have to check this.

/edit senility confirmed.

Well they are a bit slow and fuel is low for miner hunting (unless you catch it at the optimum time) but we used ours for whoring/con pushing and it was less like an ungainly fighter bomber and more like a machine of death.

At least 4 people fell to minepack, 2 too AB 3, the rest to my Gatt 3's and Broods AC3 and I don't think we even had hull damage. We were just as agile as a regular fighter really and I really agree with what others have posted that fighter bombers should not handle so well.

Also I should mention we only died because we were completely out of ammo.

Is a fighter bomber a fighter than bombers I ask you? Or gunship Lite?
