I'm dead tired from work and I haven't phisically been able to read all four pages of this thread but I want to humbly state something:

I back up BlackViper and Tigereye, all I've read from them agree with my wishes for Allegiance.

This is NOT a core war in here, loose your screws a bit and $#@!ing begin thinking in what is best for the community; all of us frigging wussies, best FOR Allegiance, best for ALL of us.

I would never play in a core stolen from its developer even if it was the best one around, we need consensus here AND to think in what is best for what really matters: ALLEGIANCE COMMUNITY.

Stop being $#@!ing wussies and begin thinking like mature and loving adults, bullies stay in High School all their poor and crappy lives.

Rivers flow naturally through the terrain, DO NOT try to force artificially in any way the flow of Allegiance, keep it nice and positive, a whole lot of people have done a marvellous work through the years and we all now enjoy it, I said it once and I state it again, Allegiance is alive, it has taken off, it's not just another game, we have to nurture and care of it the best way we can, as the young spirit it is.

Okay enough of my pseudo hare krishna crap, now off to bed.

Lol, funny how simple ideas are some times too simple for simple minded people.

Well, it's seems that my friend who is working for Blizzard (designer for World of Warcraft) is right: when it comes to balance or changes, you may ask players what they want but when it comes to decide, just do it like you think, because, at the end, they'll follow and keep playing. It's seem that Noir followed this basic principle and finally he is right: ask the community so they feel concerned but simply go your own way.

Cleary, this is the way to do: Give some faked 'I care about your feedback' but finally do as you think it should be.

end of the discussion. you'll only get what you deserve.

Kopper, I know you had good intentions, but there really isn't anything to steal here. You can't do anything in Allegiance exclusively yourself, without using tools and resources someone else made. Even if that someone is, in the end, Microsoft.

In fact, if you were, for example, to insist that the core you made is exclusively yours and can't be used by anyone else freely in any way possible, you are actually the one and only guy stealing from many good hearted people who contributed as well and whos work and ideas you used, while trampling over the entire spirit of what this *free community* should be at the same time.
I am sorry, but you got it all backwards buddy in a sort of very materialistic and egoistic way, which has little to do with "pseudo hare krishna crap", but which seem to be the way of the World today. So I can't blame you there.

As for the theory I see circulating around here, that more choice of various cores with more leaderboards for each core etc. and even KGJV's idea that having this huge number of options, featurs and choices in the settings windows is actually better - I disagree. It will just make the community more irritated and dissatisfied. To sum it up, keep the choices in Allegiance small, simple, clear, understandable and usable.
As for the reasons, I suggest you look at the presentations/books of psychology prof. Barry Schwartz on Paradox of Choice.

Thanks for your inputs KGJV and Snack.

I wasn't going against anyone in my previous post, at the same time I was just trying to ring a bell for all of us, maybe unneeded but I felt like writing it, I hope better for good but well, as stated I was very tired and yes, I'm a simple guy.

KGJV has all my respect for what he has done for years before I even knew Allegiance existed, same as all developers, modders, admins, server sysops, @Allegs, Pook, Thalgor and everyone playing since it first went online.

Let me rephrase it: We don't need to fight a core battle, there is so much done already that this is a battle Allegiance can jump over and follow on evolving, if Noir agrees to share DN fully opened to mod, good, if he doesn't, good too, there is already a vast launching pad of mods to carry on without having to worry about any single person in the "modding department".

And yes, being the jackass I am, even if I don't agree with his views, if DN was "stolen/ripped" (by his own perception, cr infringment or not aside, I beleive all work done on Allegiance is owned by noone except possibly MS) from Noir and made "DELTACORE" for example, Kopper would never ever play "DELTACORE", it is a personal choice I do, not based on laws, friendship or lack of it towards Noir, KGJV or anyone else, I'm not a socialite.

That is all I am saying, keep it natural and let's go evolving without forcing any situation, be positive even if cucumbers fall everywhere around you, that's my motto for my everyday life.

P.S.: The pseudo hare krishna crap was referring to my own ramblings, I know I can be a toaster sometimes, more even when I'm tired, and this week has been complete madness at work.

So, if I have a perception that your house and your car belong to me instead, you are going to naturally go with the flow and just leave? Well, now *that* is that pseudo hare krishna crap after all...I stand corrected.

I'll chant endlessly around you until you realize that you are a bit mistaken about my property ...

"HARE HARE,

HARE KRISHNA.

HARE HARE,

HARE KRISHNA.

[....]"

By my fourth or fifth chant you will be begging me to take charge of both the house (with the fridge full to the top of your trip to the supermarket) and the car (brand new tires and gastank full also).

And I'm not kidding.
