so is there any certain time that R4 has people on it? I know the first time I went to R4 was the week you shut down regular Allegiance to 'force' testing and we had quite a few. next week we only had 8 to 12 total as most stayed on the ASGS. so, maybe setting a certain test time or many through the day would be helpful for us to meet up and run some games to test things out for ya /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I'm trying to do your bidding and beta test R4. I followed the instructions in this post. However, when i try to start allegiance beta with ASGS (which seems to be required), I get the illegal signature message.

AEM's installer needs to be updated with the latest client and a few mdl files. Please be patient. AEM did not know I was going to do an update very late last night....

Same thing happened for me last week... I used the installer, forgot what the problem was(something about not finging allegiance.exe), used the manual install instructions, I use asgs to login (beta mode) and everything works normally until alleg tries to start

No point in reinstalling I don't think if you have not done so already.
My best guess is something is blocking the exe download. It sounds like you already have downloaded the manual update but redownload
http://www.allegtraining.com/R4ManualUpdate071016.zip . Open it and then open the Beta folder. If there is no Allegiance.exe there something must be blocking it. If there is no Allegiance.exe in the Beta folder within your regular Allegiance folder, then ASGS will not be able to launch Allegiance.

There is an allegiance.exe in my beta folder in my allegiance folder. I just re-checked it to be sure. There was before I replaced the artwork directory too, but i reinstalled the new stuff again anyway

Well what happens when you click on (run) Allegiance.exe in the beta folder?
Edit: is FreeImage.dll there along with a number of other dlls?

When I click allegiance.exe in beta in allegiance folder, I get
"D:\Allegiance\Beta\Allegiance.exe
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling blah blah."
and no, no .dlls in that folder...

You should only get that message if you have not installed the VC++ SP1 Redistributable. Info and link is in the installer.
edit: well no dlls in the Beta folder is a problem. It might cause that same error. I dunno.
edit2: now only FreeImage.dll is packed in with the installer. The rest are copied over from your regular Allegiance directory. But they should be present in the beta folder within your Allegiance folder if you have used the installer at any point.
Screw it, rewriting this post:
You should only get that message if you have not installed the VC++ SP1 Redistributable. Info and link is in the installer. Missing DLL's might cause the same problem. But the DLL's are not packed in with the manual update. FreeImage.DLL is included in the installer since that is the only new DLL for R4. The installer automatically grabs the old DLL's from your Allegiance folder and copies them into the Beta folder.
I've renamed the setup file. Maybe you are having some cache issue too. Why don't you download it (
http://www.allegtraining.com/r4setup071016.zip) and try installing.
edit: and my question before I meant what happens if you run Allegiance.exe in your Allegiance/Beta folder
