Allegiance's reorganization
And this is why nobody cares about working on the code...
The Escapist (Justin Emerson) @ Dec 21 2010, 02:33 PM:
The history of open-source Allegiance is paved with the bodies of dead code branches, forum flame wars, and personal vendettas. But a community remains because people still love the game.
riiight....
They stopped working on the code 6 years ago and we all know why.
Anyway, there's nothing they can do about it now (or then) because it's beyond their understanding and ability. The code was introduced already broken yet got pushed to AU rather than scrapping their failed attempt. Imago put endless hours into it to trying to make it work and even he couldn't fix it.
This is why I say putting this abomination on Steam would be an embarrassment. As soon as the downloads begin, the complaints would be rolling in.
Look at what paps had to do just to get a generic JS to work. Mapping yaw to roll and visa versa!?... when the previous (non doofus) code worked perfectly. Not only did that Dx9 project screw up the basic functionality, it broke things that worked perfectly before!
Amateurs in way over their head from the top down.

I really don't understand what you expect to achieve with such a post...Wasp wrote:QUOTE (Wasp @ Sep 21 2016, 03:15 PM) riiight....

It's either self destruction: you really don't want anyone to fix Alleg so you make sure to push away everyone.
or it's a failed attempt at some odd reverse psychology bs (aka attack devs on their pride so they respond by showing you what they can do)
or whatever bs reason you might have
or you're just venting/drunk posting without thinking about the consequences
or you're just a monumental idiot
Either way it's not productive, not positive and certainly not helping at all.
There is no point lingering on the past and accusing people: this won't fix anything. Focus on what you can do and not on what could have been or on what you cannot do.
Be positive, kind and welcoming to new or returning people will help more than that crap you posted.
Get bent...
I'm shopping online for coders who can do what you clearly can not do, so don't pretend that you're capable when it's obvious that it's way over your head. If you had a clue, you'd have done something about this 6-7 years ago when everyone was screaming in your ears.
I don't give a squat whether you or anyone else here puts in any effort because you're simply not worth the trouble and I'll be damned if I'm gonna suck up to the likes of you.

Sigh, can't we just cooperate, for the benefit of the game we all love?
Is it just too much to ask?

QUOTE ^cashto@Elem (all): yeah, i imagine if you're rusty, you could build op short for no reason, build a naked ref, then go two techpaths even though your mining is by all objective standards $#@!ed[/quote]

I've got at least a dozen bids and the money goes into escrow until the job is complete...thus; no risk.KGJV wrote:QUOTE (KGJV @ Sep 24 2016, 07:30 AM) "shopping online for coders": yeah good luck with that. really. may be then you will realize some hard facts about Alleg code and programming in general.
In contrast, what we do here is push code because of all the hours put into it even though it's broken. Couldn't bring yourselves to admit that you just couldn't do it? Is this what they taught you in school?
