The Washington Post wasn't an anonymous source. The journalists weren't anonymous. "Deep Throat" was a single source from many who came forward. The movie staring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman portrayed it as being a very well kept secret that could only have been revealed by two journalistic sleuths however, the story would have come to light regardless.
