And again I repeat. You are lucky for being able to kill ppl legally. And with a new add. You are dumb for doing it wrongly.

Anwar Awlaki was a liar, a murderer, and a scumbag. But his ass was BORN in Arizona... and that means you cant just order a drone strike to take him out without him having a chance to defend himself. Those are the principles that millions of us have fought and died for, and you just @#(! all over those sacrifices.
$#@! you

I'm not putting words in your mouth. That was the whole focus of your original rant - not that your government assassinated a living human being, but that they assassinated an
American.
If he wasn't American, you wouldn't give a flying $#@! that he was killed.
Wake up and smell your beliefs.

Dont get me wrong, i hated bush. But a lot of people naively believed things would change, and it sucks seeing the opposite. One of these days people are gonna march on that blighted capital and chase those politicians through the streets with pitchforks.

500 being arrested most likely means there were a lot more that weren't arrested. America is discontent.

These protests are in some ways awesome that liberals are finally getting some semblance of balls, but in other ways frustrating because obviously nothing dramatic will come of them. What do they want congress to do? abolish itself? Abolish big banks? Abolish capitalism? Say sorry?

ACLU articulates it best:
QUOTE “As we’ve seen today, this is a program under which American citizens far from any battlefield can be executed by their own government without judicial process, and on the basis of standards and evidence that are kept secret not just from the public but from the courts,” said Jameel Jaffer, deputy legal director for the ACLU. “The government’s authority to use lethal force against its own citizens should be limited to circumstances in which the threat to life is concrete, specific and imminent. It is a mistake to invest the president – any president – with the unreviewable power to kill any American whom he deems to present a threat to the country.”[/quote]

7. Conviction for an act of treason.
They should have had a quick trial and convicted him in absentia, then whacked him for a whole lot less than $40 million.
Fiscal responsibility my ass. $40 mil is $40 mil....it still adds to the deficit.

I would just like to point out a couple of things. First, you are parsing that web site as if the words in it have the force of law, when they do not. the web site is merely explaining a legal principle that has been in existence for a long time. Second, the principle as it is stated in the web site I think makes clear that the party involved loses their citizenship at the time that they take arms against the US. Third, intention is almost always determined after the fact by looking at a person's actions. Take intentional murder - very rarely do people admit that they intended to kill someone. But if they point a gun at someone and pull the trigger, we can infer their intent. I think it's pretty clear that if you move to Yemin, join al queda, and plan attacks against US citizens, you are intending to relinquish your citizenship. And finally, as for his involvement in al queda and planning attacks against the US, I think the evidence speaks for itself on that point.
I would reiterate as I also said above, I think the argument that his citizenship somehow protects him is ridiculous. I agree with the reasoning the Obama administration has put out that they could target this guy even if he was a US citizen. Also, I would note that the US Supreme Court validated this rationale because they dismissed the case this clown's father made against him being targeted.
Can we also discuss how progressive it is that this guy's father was even able to bring a case to the US supreme court to try to get the president to not target this guy? If that's not evidence that we live in a great country I don't know what is.
