Interestingly enough, most of the people who have posted here have been booted for something they thougt was a bad call, unjust boot, stupid thing, W/E, they still play the game, those who thougt the boot was abusive and PMed BV got results (Banlist), or they got caught by the enforcers.
My point being that actually what Alien and Sharpfish are doing here is making look the @allegs and the community rly bad in front of any new player that happens to stumble to this thread, seems like we dont have rules at all, or the players around here are all abusive and W/E.

QUOTE Q: I have a rank of 4 or less. Do I have some boot protection?

A: Yes, a limited protection. See below for further details.

Newbie boot protection

Q: When are newbie boots allowed?

The spirit of the rule is - don't boot them because they don't know something. Boot them because they're trying to be a dick or they're jeopardizing a team and ignoring warnings for a reasonable amount of time.

"Reasonable amount of time" means about a minute - pity-warnings issued 2s before the commander boots the guy don't count. Admins should teach that commander how to do it right - give them some time to review the RoC ;) [/quote]

I can't remember the last time I got booted. I think it might have been a year or so ago, I accidentally totalled one of FedMan's frigates.

Used to get booted alot -- some for good reasons, mostly not. Doesn't happen much these days -- I guess finally I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

In case you need proof I'm better than mediocre...

I'm A51. And I do tons of scouting compared to all them Int whores.
You're... way below me on all of those stats. And I'm not good. And I spend a good amount of time in a scout.

WTF

Ya I'm sorry about that Sum. Like I said I just started a friendly chat. It kinda devolved into this argument when Icky and others started insulting me.

Pretty much everyone is willing to acknowledge that mistakes may happen. That's only one part of the issue. The second part is when nobody is willing to admit that a mistake has been made, which is totally par for the course here.

So, lets take what you say above as a given, people experience these boots as unjust, raise the issue, and what do they get? Some dickhead says "Someone should boot Alien for making this thread."

You think that doesn't look really bad? It looks really $#@!ing bad to me. And what happens when I tell you it looks really $#@!ing bad to me? You try to make it my fault.

No taking of responsibility. No attempt to resolve. No attempt to improve the climate. Just more blame-gaming, excuses, pathetic little in-group status games and general dick-waving. I mean all this @#(! about who's is better than who in the game and is therefore entitled to an opinion is like something out of caveman cartoon. I think most people would agree that Michael Schumacher is an execellent F1 driver but does that also mean he's superior to qualified mechanical engineer when designing an engine, or superior to a trained chemist when refining a fuel? Obviously not. But this kindergarten-like celebration of ignorance thrives in Allegiance. There is only one metric, and that is who can pod who, and all ideas are measured against this rank idiocy.

Icky has it completely wrong when he says that "It's a testament to the strength of the community and it's ability to weed out bad seeds and ignore morons that it has lasted this long." Because what it's really done is weed out the good seeds and enshrine the morons as the arbiters of acceptable behaviour.

Did i ever said all the things you have typed down¿?
all i had said is that the community does have enforcement rules, policies and a group of ppl willing to control, see, from your posts and aliens anyone can imply that we dont have such, i have posted how they work.

Have you ever tried going throug the chanels that are setup in this community whenever you had felt being abuse¿?
So you have already made your mind on how the whole community is decaying, ok w/e, i dont share such point of view, then i may ask another question¿? Have you ever see me abusing someone else in game or in forums¿? if you have, why didnt you reported it to BV so he can take the correspondent meassures¿?
Did i ever insulted you, made a generalization or belittle you on my post¿? no didnt i, i just pointed out what to me seems like a very unjust position towards the community, not that i care much about it, but you sound like a paladin of justice and yet you cant treat me with that awesome justice of yours.

I wasnt saying that if you get booted is your fault, its not my place to say such thing cause i rly dont know if i have ever see you in game, i'm saying that we have enforcement and noob abuse is not tolerated, yet you make it sound like we dont have it and we tolerate W/E thing happens on game. This is not true dont make it sound like it is, be helpfull.

Against my nature and best judgement i tried to engage a civil discusion with you (yes now i know better, thanks), providing info on how the community works and how to confront this issues, and what i read from you is just a lot of insults, angsts and generalisations, and since you're responding to me, i must assume they are intentionally directed at me, so i'm a dickhead and a pathetic dick waver, well thank you very much.
If you want to help, then please help BV and the @allegs in there work and dont add more drama to this.

In the past 2 days I think I have played upwards of 10 hours of allegiance. Last time I played before that was 2 years ago. I as $#@!ing up all over the place at first, even had the comm call me out a few times. Not once did I get booted.

Seriously, wtf is wrong with you guys? If you have an attitude on these forums and/or in game that is annoying, you are more likely to get booted. That might be the problem here, and the solution is ClayPigeon's rule #1 for how to not be annoying: SHUT THE $#@! UP.

Please refer to this rule to avoid bootitation in the future.

No mistake has been made. There was absolutely no problem with the boot. There's no need for anybody to take responsibility here, except you and Alien51 for turning FAO into your gothy $#@!ing livejournal about how the boys don't like you and you got picked last in gym class and you got booted from a team in an online game and so on and so on.
