Good..... anger is good... you sir have the Bull spirit. If you got mad Teej ....know this... I honestly had no one squad in my sights.

If you see issues that I have brought up that apply then great.. If not fine..

However, I purposley refrained from talking about any squad and know the points are relevant to all squads. Heck.... does PK need AARM to com in order to dominate... Does SYSX need Spidey..... does XT need VIR... If so then there is a potential long term issue these squads need to address. I dont recall talking about SRM or SF or even BS...

I am trying to give you things to think about if you care about playing in Squad games and being and staying competetive.

Also....
If you sign up for a squad game... dont show up with a team and do not tell anyone.. SHAME ON YOU....

I have shared with everyone things SYSX works on so as not to be in that situation.

Do we suck up new player... sure we do... We are paying attention and actively pursuing new players.. What you may not realize is we are all doing it all the time.. We do not consider it one persons job....

As for helping SRM... or any other Squad

I have put my time into Allegiance .. Both as an @ Allegiance and as an SL helping pull sysx out of the dirt. I have sat on the side lines and help to guide an nurture it since I transfered the helm.. I am done directly donating time. I did it for 4 years in another gaming system before this. There are plenty of energetic people to step up.

if you don't like my advice...or admonition or it does not pertain to your squad then fine,,,,

If you think there is any good excuse for signing up to play in a competetion and consistently not fielding a team ...and not telling the other team in advance... then we have a difference of opinion on what is proper ettiquette.

Again... feel free to stick me with your horns... I will not insult you personally because this is not about you..... Personally I like you and think you are a skilled pilot..

Cable is not talking specifically about SRM
I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.

Agreed complaining about other squads winning, while allowing your squad to fester is stupid. And saying you will turn-up then failing is unfair on the opposition.

But I get the feeling there are a number of players who play a bit, want a nice fun squad game on the sundays that they can turn up too (win or lose), and don't really take it that seriously.

Alleg. should allow for people with different attitudes to the game. Win at all costs is not the only way to have fun, and I feel some people forget that round here (this is not directed at you cable).
You are one of the people most in need of a couch to sit in while it is on fire.

So now is the right time to start up the Post Tourney Squad Draft pick pool?

Perhaps we give each squad a bankroll to buy top shelf comms and players with, ala the NBA draft. Give squads credits when then win, etc. Fantasy Football meets Alleg.

Might make for an interesting tourney, to create new draft squads just for that tourney. People would still be attached to thier normal squad except for draft tourney games.

Everyone get on Pink!

If this somehow turns out to be a not bad idea, don't do it for two months at least, until camping season is done. ;)

Mostly coming with a cross after a funeral, but here goes:

Maybe I should comm a SG again, then? We'd lose horribly, but at least good fun would be had by all :D
Broodwich wrote:QUOTE (Broodwich @ Jun 9 2010, 12:47 AM) there is a difference between passive leadership and active leadership. People (should) have hats for a reason
The RT approach to this is "Leadership should only be needed when things go south". Unless there's a crisis, there's no reason for tokened members to be anything other than primus inter pares. This philosophy has been working pretty decently for us so far, if I may say so myself.

Of course, what works for us quite possibly won't work for another squad, with different core principles, recruitment policies and so on.

What you have described was Allegiance Wars. They were not terribly successful.
