Jop, you realize that'll take like thirty minutes per sector? And that the only probe left will be the 900-100m one?

Better plan: one 800m below, one 900m above, you'll now see all cons (except Bios enh and most adv cons) and you'll see a) boosting ints, b) figs, and c) bombers. What else do you really need to see?

I tend to go 2 probes 900m away from alephs (one on each side or above/below the plane), then a second load dropped around the rocks and random places off the plane.

This topic should be turned into a wiki page.

You need to see everything, always, and it dosent take that long per sector really...
I probed for an entire game, nothing else, It wins.

According to your rank (5) it doesn't win. Oh, and your 600m and 10m (LOLOL) probes do nothing earlygame or midgame except get shot. Fast.

How to probe most (perhaps not techbase) sectors:

-Go Rix

-Grab a friend

-Both get SR scouts.

-Alternate ripping home to get more probes while the other stays in thie field until the first one rips back.

1. Place one probe like 10m away from aleph (finds even the sneaky-est of sneaky ships)
You mean dropping one as soon as you enter a sector? Please stop doing this, it doesn't help. The next enemy anything coming through will see and destroy that probe. Totally wasted effort, unless your goal is to raise my blood pressure.

Sometimes it's a good idea to put a probe immedeately behind an aleph from which the enemy will be entering. When you need to know if a cloaked stealth fig has entered the mining sector (and can't stay to camp the aleph) this will do it. It is also the way to get alerts about incoming SBs.

/edit fixed typo

I love seeing enemy teams do this, then when their cons try to enter the aleph they bounce back out again.

Or bbr or boosting ship or miner. Or capship.

@peenix According to ppls, rank does not mean anything, and I dont place a probe right infront of the aleph, I place it above and behind or off to the side and behind. Its just so that if a SF comes thru you will know, even if they distroy the probe at least you know one is in there, or was planning on doing somthing in there.

Aleph probing is easily deprobed fyi...most likely (hopefully) the other team would deprobe the aleph (when I deprobe I check around the aleph...most probes are near it)

Probe in the sector off the grid please unless you are turtling vs sbs with 1 sector (in which you will probe aleph) then just don't.
