Well the senate made sense if it was given the authority to act- bascially the senate wasn't effective enough (which was probably it's own fault), I do think that it made it really easy for a squad to stay in the loop if they had a good senator. I don't like the change, however I'm fine with letting it happen as obviously there is no choice. Will things turn out better or worse, no one can say, though I doubt it'll make a huge difference, the only thing I see is less communication and interaction between the players and the admins. I look forward to seeing things turn out for the better though. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

For those of you who don't read my blog, let me start out with this. It has been a learning experience on both sides of the fence since I took over enforcement issues. Which simply means I make a huge effort to Admin without emotion involved now.

Someone has to really continously screwup or do something major to incurr a lifetime ban.

Such bans will be discussed amongst my staff, the admins, probably the ZL's and in some cases within the OC. In other words, depending upon the situation, FEEDBACK will be collected from within the leaders of the community. Almost every SL can attest that I do contact them directly for issues with a member of their squad. Or they get CC'd on my PM's.

My "carebears" you might say? If every person who has been contacted by me for feedback on issues was to post in this topic, this would be a multipage posting. I think you would be shocked a bit who I do talk with and get feedback from. I know I have sent a few PM's over time to please DON"T stop posting. It gives me another viewpoint on a topic.

Pook, TE and myself my not always agree, but we do come to a collective decision quickly after factoring in all angles of the topic. Sometimes we have to have Thal wiegh in at our request. (We just have to interrupt his 'wabbit hunting).

One other item I don't think was mentioned previously. You will see more of "Here is the information, you make your own call posts." Major bans or incidents will have a post made so the facts may be viewed by you independant of the rumor mill. Just to keep the community in the loop.

As Pook pointed out we are here to have fun. If people make the game/our community not fun to be around. Well they won't be here. Who is going to argue with that? /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

I know what the original purpose of the senate was. It transformed into a discussion club about ban times and bans. While it sucked at creating community events, I think it performed resonably well on the ban (time) discussion. I still think there should be a place for a squad rep meeting where such issues can be discussed. I am just not too happy with @allegs without a senate.

MadAccountant, your "Again though, don't be a @#(! disturber and you don't have to worry about anything." is more or less:
"All suspects are guilty, otherwise they would not be suspects" to quote the fan movie "troops". I cannot support that as @alleg can be wrong as well. (I know, I was one and I am not perfect.)

I really hope this works out. I plan on returning to the game in about 2-3 months. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

That wasn't my point Grimm though I can see how you take its meaning that way.

I almost didn't reply, but I figured you'd appreciate that some of of us NoObs are paying attention.

Most of the Gaming Communities I've been involved with are ultimately subject to the publishers for problem/development resolution (which can be less than responsive). The fact a 'Senate' was tried, current discussions, @Cadet and other training, on-going development...

The more I get into alleg, the more I realize you guys really do have something special here...

That depends on whether it's a benevolent tyrant or just a run of the mill african-@#(!hole-I-do-as-please-and-suck-everyone-dry-till-they-die type of tyrant. In BF2 you see quite a lot of the 2nd type of tyrant server admins who point farm with their buddies and $#@! up the game for the rest who happen to venture onto their server. We haven't seen this @#(! in Alleg yet but we have to be damn careful that 1 or 2 squads do not draw all functions of power their way and thus monopolize decision making in alleg through the old-boy network. Spread the love throughout the squads to keep peeps happy /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Au contraire, squad membership (or rather, inter-squad politics) shouldn't be a consideration at all.

I'm not convinced that the ASGS poll is the best way of judging the opinion of the masses, reason being, newbs who know little/nothing will have just as much of a voice as squadded vets - this at least was something the senate was good at imo.

Well, that's up to us.

Once a poll is concluded, we can filter the data any way we want.

- Only Inter 1+ votes count?
- Only players who've played more than 10 times in the last month?
- Only players who's callsigns end with the letter 'K'.
- Only players who are squadded.
- Only players who are squadded and active.
- Only players who are squadded and active and are ranked higher than Inter 1.
- Only players who are squadded and active and are ranked higher than Inter 1 and who's callsigns end with the letter K and who have at least twice as many kills than ejects and who....

Get the picture?
