- Paint a green door on the side of each cap
- Change the code so that if you hit the "door" in a scout/fig/int and there's a slot open on the cap, you'll take over that turret.
- ctrl + DDD to relaunch in your original ship (5 second countdown to prevent abuse?)
This is really a good idea, but the thing about this is that this requires some code change, which with our current development team will take this change to come out in Two weeks™.
So in mean time, lets stick with what with have and balance it from there.

DISCLAIMER: This is in no way a shot at our Dev team, you guys do awesome volunteer work, with very little manpower.

So if when R6 gets implementd most players think the game would be more fun if a team with a tech base gets a specific capital if they build a 20K SY:

Sup: Attack Carrier
Expo: MFrig (nerfed - no skycaps)
Tac: Corvette
Starbase: Freightor

And when a Teck base gets advanced the SY can be upgraded to get:

Heavy Class researched +
Adv Expo: Devestator
Adv Sup: Cruiser (can mount Aleph Res/ NG)
Adv Tac: Destroyer

SY -> Drydock:

Expo: Heavy Frigate (can mount Aleph Res/NG)
Sup: Super Carrier (Rip2)
Tac: Ass Ship

Am I missing something?

I don't see what R6 has to do with it, no code changes necessary. Apart from your Recon Ship idea which sounds silly and don't know where you got it from.

Well IMHO SY rush is OP so that building SY should depend on advTechbase

And that way you make SY as mk4 tech not equal with other techpaths.

Edit:typo

If you require an advanced tech base the corresponding ships just aren't strong enough to justify the costs. An attack carrier/Frigate/Corrvette all compete in strength with Advanced Figs/Heavy Ints/Stealth Bombers. The true mk 4 looking ships are the Cruiser/Devestator/Ass Ship.

I suppose the devs could decide to make SY only buildable after an advanced tech base, if so the MFrig wouldn't need to be nerfed. In such a scenario it would look like:

SY (10K cost) only buildable with advanced base.

Adv Sup: Attack Carrier, Heavy Class -> Cruiser (can mount aleph Res, NG), Drydock -> Super Carrier (rip2)
Adv Expo: MFrig, Heavy Class -> Devestator, Drydock -> Heavy Frigate (can mount Aleph Res, NG)
Adv Tac: Corvette, Heavy Class -> Destroyer, Drydock -> Assault Ship
Rainbow: Battleship

Not much different and I can see why people would prefer it to allowing SY construction (at increased cost) with basic tech instead of advanced tech. Personally I'd be fine with either system as I think SY would actually be playable. Hell we could even tie Spec Mines and Carrier drones to SY as SY would probably be turned off in games smaller then 5v5 at the start and people would actually leave it on for larger games as SY would have a viable use without being OP.

I suppose my question is which method do people prefer (SY only with advanced Tech base, or available at increased cost with basic)? Also does anyone really have an issue with either method and not think it would be vastly supperior to the current way SY works?
