There's always  the pre-existing  DHTML framework

I could attempt to write a "browser" which new players could use to visit the free allegiance website, maybe develop some sort of extensible markup language which the browser will interpret..

I've recently learned to just do my own thing since it's more productive than reading his trolling...it's so hard to refrain from responding to his trolls :(

It has alot of what I would call technical details about allegaince, faction info, tech and stuff. That will be overwheming to people. People need to be introduced to that slowly over time, like a cat learning how to swim.

Should have somthing about how the game is played.

Also I am not a fan of new slogan "fly alone, die alone" although catchy and true, I like "the best game you never played" better.

OK, version #2 is done save for putting in actual pictures of the ships in the "Ships" tab (will do that tomorrow, my brain is fried from working on this the past 3 days). Link is the same ( http://tehbacon.host56.com/Allegiance/Baco...leg%20Page.html ).

I've read more of your guys's suggestions, and they're all good ones and I've implemented several. However there is only so much I can fit onto 1 page and only so many suggestions I can actually take w/o having to come up with 5 iterations of the same page to please everybody, so I just picked the ones that I really thought would improve things, not just "change" them.

I also didn't put the screenshots along the top like SpaceJunk suggested. While it looks good, it sends my tabs along the bottom off of the initial screen and you'd have to scroll to see them. Personally I think having a link to a separate screenshots page is fine. I've got 2 videos for them to watch (with the ability to add more if we have some), which should be better than any screenshot.

I just watched the videos. I think 'random dogfighting' is, well, just that. And it implies the whole 'Quake in Space'. It would be a lot of work, but I'd like to see the community to put together a bit of a montage:

Scout proxes int boosting after it - preferably recorded from that external view which shows your ship in the foreground and your target as the centre of the screen, so you'd see the mines appear behind the scout and then the enemy plough into it.

Galvers destroying an op, preferably taken from that external view that allows you to view your target directly.

Bomb run from nans point of view - the one in that old gameplay footage was pretty good action, actually, you got to see the bbr launch the missile and everything.

Stealth fighter raping a miner, from cockpit view - or the enemies' viewpoint, so all you see is missiles streaking out of nowhere and then a ship appearing, raping, and disappearing.

IC int launching, then doing a u-turn and rotating to boost between that gap between the hanger and the base, in order to kill something on the other side.

And preferably, anyone recording this footage would (temporarily) remove all their VC and the 'ping' sound of new messages so that all you're left with is the sound of gunfire, boosters, etc.

PS:

I recommend crediting that slogan you're using in the banner.
I think it was Gamespot?

Not so much because it will cover any potential legal issue (which I think would be rare) but...
because it shows that "someone real" said it and not just little ol' us touting our own horn :P
