So admins ban stackers now?

Hay, remember that time I lobby banned 10 people rapid fire after a game of horrible stacking?

Is it to late to ask for a long over-due appology?

My point is this. Banning supposed stackers will not help and after 8 years of trying to solve the problem, what makes people think this latest solution will do the trick? Why don't TE and BV just completely butt out of it and get some rest? If the community hasn't fallen apart after 8 years of stacking, what makes them think it will now if they don't start banning? The simple fact is this, you're not going to change human nature no matter what you do. There is no magic formula for attracting and keeping new people, so just butt out and enforce the real laws as defined by actual government, not the law as made up by 2 people lacking knowlege in governmental affairs and not able to see the larger picture.

While I agree they have a difficult job that they are not making any easier on themselves by piling on the criteria and responsibility, their main responsibility is to do what is best for the game and not abuse their power. I see what they have done as too far over the line and I feel shared responsibility for them even being there in the first place. It is right to say I'm out of line for the name calling, and I'm sorry I stooped to that level, but I will not retract my words because they show my true feelings about the matter.

Another thing people fail to realize is that stackers are incredibly easy to beat. The game is designed for just that! Cohesive teamwork beats individual skill and is much more fun than stacking anyway. I have commed many games against stacks and everytime we won it was because the team listened and executed as a team. Flying and comming against the stack made me a damn good pilot even though I never took cadet, acs, or had a decent squad to learn from. I didn't get pissed off at the stackers and demand they be punished because I learned the difference between when a loss was my fault and when it was because the team sucked.

If it *is* just a game as I keep hearing, then why do people even care about "stack"? Why do people think it's not fun to be "stacked against"? You cannot use the argument that it is "just a game" while at the same time saying "ban the stackers". They are contradictory statements.

Unfortunately, winning in alleg has turned into a political game controlled by 2 people and if that is good for the game in the long run then anybody that has ever supported a democracy is wrong.

...and if I get banned from the forums for the things I've said then I will hold my head high knowing I went out swinging, just like all the others that criticized TE and BV and were silenced the same way. I will no longer put my tail between my legs and tell myself "it's ok, at least I can still be here."

Well Juckto, I was thinking there would still be a main server where there will be a mixture of skill levels (or a more extreme mixture rather). If people want to fly on the main game and police themselves and use common sense when joining a team so be it. If they want to no have to worry about being called a stacker (like how there is no stacking in squad games) then join the Advanced Only player server.

It's not being elitist. It's not excluding newbies. It's making it so that more of the active community can have fun and play the game the way they want to play it. The newbies stay safe and can gain some confidence in their own server, why can't an advanced player have some good, quality games of their own?

Theres nothing in the rules that say you can't. Nobody is telling the newbies they can't play. There is still the main game and the newb server.

To satisfy the over-reactors here, maybe BV or TE can post guidelines on what they will accept from a server for people who don't want to worry about getting banned / have fun with higher skill level games.

I don't know, am I crazy? It seems pretty doable to me. The ranking system and no novice switch are already working are they not?

Or it could be that only 2 people have been banned, for wildly different lengths and for presumably different offenses, because they are doing this totally when they feel like it and for the length they feel like.

Wow.

I definitely expected a reaction after what has happened over the last two days, but let's just say I did not expect to see some of you reacting in these ways. I honestly am amazed.
I really want to move on after this, but it's likely better to let things "sink in" first before continuing.

On another note, I wonder how our words will be read in the future? When looking back at any event, it's always judged with the knowledge and viewpoint of what has been learned since that event. I wonder how the future will read these words and this situation?

I guess I don't have to wait long to find out.

This anti-stack message needs to sink in more. I think I'll log ingame and find some other stacker to ban for another arbitrary amount of time. Sounds fun.

I can understand banning people that stack to win. Fine with me.

But what if I want to join a team with, say, Andon or MrC on it? I don't care whether or not I lose, I just want to 'chill' with my buds for a little while. Everyone knows I'm not that great of a player, so I think I could stand waiting for a noob to join the other team.

Maybe if we got rid of ranks and based stacking on reputation or personal skill of how good you think someone is, we would be taking a step in the right direction?

Wtf are ranks for, anyway?

I like how heavily people are taking this. I mean really, stacking is basically like bullying, which is basically a form of harassment.

10 -You say the only way for you to have fun, is a game where you fly with just your friends? Go make one, somewhere then. Find some willing participants or something.

20 -Can't get enough people to your liking? Ok, then go join the main server and divide yourselves among the teams like they did. What? if you do that you can't play with just your friends like the way you want it? Go make your own server then.

If a game starts with the intention of a balanced game, what right do stackers have to come in and unbalance it against the wishes of the other players? I say Pico is on to something here, just divide the damned servers for a while, and see what you get. Have (stacked games only) and (balanced games only) if you want to as well, but all that will result is exactly what sp4wn stated earlier.

so tell me if this is comunity game then why cant we make servers and let those people in we want. Microsoft made the game free to play right . then why do only a couple people have power over it?

Anyway all you have to do to not stack is just lose about a dozen games and get your rank down to inter 3 then youy cant stack most games.

Preety bogus of you banning beer hes about the nicest guy ive met in the game and picking him out of the crowed is bull and you know it. so many people do so much worse here .

Power hungry and its sad. Grow up folks and at least be fair . Ive seen this kind of thing in other games .
