Download it, have a look at it and let me know what you think.
We can discuss price afterwards.
Feel free to send me a PM KGJV.

To give everyone an idea of what C++ game development really cost:
Around $400 to $600 per day for small projects (~$50/hour). But often it's fixed-price projects.
ofc, then, it depends a lot on complexity , context , environment, solo/team work, etc.
To fix Allegiance R8 I'll estimate that need you'll need at least $2000 to start interesting someone for a contract.
Basically, if you want a full time developer working on Allegiance you'll need $100k a year to get
real results (below you won't be happy, trust me on that).
If you had more 'hundreds' as a unit in your mind than 'thousands' then you need to forget right now about actually "paying" someone to fix Allegiance.
Eventually you can 'donate' 'hundreds' to someone to do stuff on his/her free time, that may be affordable.

For $50.00 you can get 500 rounds of gold ammo, aiming recticle and 5% sig reduction on all ships. That might fund a coder.

HELL NO
anyone who has anything to do with turning allegiance into a "pay-to-win" even if it's for the greater good, will be getting a personal visit from me and a kick to the balls and or other genitals.
although if your just makeing social commentary then i agree entirely that there are way too many $#@!tards out there who would pay for an advantage rather than devlop the skills to not just be a useless dip@#(!.

I firmly believe that if we all tell Cashto to go $#@! himself enough, and we use the power of magic and fairy dust, he will come.
MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ Jul 10 2015, 02:55 PM) Just to be sure everyone understands the Cashto was my version of a joke
cashto wrote:QUOTE (cashto @ Jul 10 2015, 03:19 PM) I'm the real joke around here.

That's a terrible idea.
How about, for $50, you get a hat you can wear on your interceptor ...

How much does it actually cost to manufacture T-shirts? I would have thought its a big investment but everyone and their dog is selling shirts on Youtube so obviously it's not that expensive to do.....
This entire thread reminds me of a website called clientsfromhell. It's a collection of submitted stories from programmers, web developers, artists and such complaining about their clients. Mostly it's about stupid clients who don't understand @#(! about what they're ordering, but there's a dash of people whose clients don't understand that you have to pay more than $50 or whatever for a professionally made logo or website or whatever.
We pretty much rely on the talent of people who love the game to work on it for free, making new factions, new cores, new updates and whatever. Our issue with not having programmers passionate enough to help us is directly related to the playerbase numbers as a whole. If we attract new players we'll also attract new programming talent who might be interested in pitching in to make their mark on Allegiance. This is basically the same situation that Supreme Commander is going through right now, but their community is larger and thus has a bigger pool of donators and programmers to work with. Plus the game itself works better to bounce back from bad population numbers for reasons beyond our control.
It's either that or one of us wins the lotto so they'll have a spare 10 grand to give to Dome and blacksun to hire talent.

Is there an official repo for this project somewhere? I think I'm even more confused about the state of things after reading the forum.
