This'll get them to find the game and download it, I think. I'm a bit worried the "how the $#@! to I play this game, now" bit is not very discoverable.

Also: purple and RED? Ugh. Don't get me wrong, I like purple. It can be used tastefully, but ... it's not an easy color to design around. Not really an idiot-proof color like, say, the blue of these forums.

NP, yeah ranking pretty well given that I unfortunately have not had any time to work on this over the last three weeks due to moving. It is near the top of Google search results for "free space combat game" and on the top of the second page for "space combat game". It should make the first page for "space combat game" relatively soon.

I will definitely be putting a lot of time into this website over the next two weeks.

edit: nvm, website is on page 3 for "space combat game" Must not have had "personalization" disabled last night, which changes the results. Still, a decent ranking given how little time has been put into link building so far and should improve a lot as I get back to working on this over the next couple weeks.

So I tried searching for various things in google (I thought if I searched or things and then clicked through to them it might help the rankings).

Promo site comes up for the last one, but higher up in the results and more interestingly is a "let's play" youtube video (actually a 'lets fly' video) for allegiance with over 2k views (part 2 has over 1k, so 50% dropout rate).
It's quite a good video for newbies (though the guy making it made so many mistakes gameplay wise).

We got in touch, I did not know freespacecombatgame.com was his till the post about it got bumped and I sent him a message soon after and we are in contact. I was using his site before accs came out for the landing page of ad campaign because google ranking gives it a good score. But since I did not see the download being updated to alleg300.exe I switched to freeallegiance.org for landing page. I just figured it wasn't going to be updated so I started working on a new site.

Your say should be a lot more than 2 cents!

I do agree that creating a separate community forum isn't the best idea- however having nice looking sites that redirect here (or to another forum if the community wants to move as a whole/majority), will do nothing negative and most likely positive.
