I fail to see how making exclusive games "better" appeals to the majority of newer players that:
A. Don't know they exist
B. See password protected games and don't know how to join
C. When getting into the SG they're only allowed to sit in base.
??? Allegiance isn't dying from lack of squad play.

Sorry, I can't hear what you said. Could you turn the jet ski off? And whether or not I play, it doesn't address the issues I pointed out which all have a logical background.

Mr long name makes sense though, dont disregard his opinion simply because he doesn't play. A lot of squadded players don't often or refuse to play pugs because of the "lower average skill" or something to that effect. Refusing to play doesn't really help alleviate the problem, nor does it keep fresh blood in the recruit pool.
I understand not wanting to play with a bunch of idiots, but the fact is, that's how games stay alive.

I feel like punishing people for being unavailable (or whatever) is a bad idea. For one, it would make people feel obliged to play. Obligation is a negative emotion, therefore, I can say people as a whole would feel bad if they its like they HAVE to play OR ELSE. (Theres a parable about catching more flies or something here). Plus probably most guys wont mind being unsquaded and fly with their (ex?) squad-mates anyways. Putting restrictions on how people are allowed to have fun is a dumb idea. Yes we need incentive for squaddies to fly sundays, but kicking them out of their squads isn't gonna help. You could offer bonus points to rank when you play in SG's (after ACSS goes live). Or some sort of in-game reward, fancy ships or something.
The best incentive for playing in SG's is squad rivalry. Nothing tastes better than podding someone you hate. I mean, if you could, how many of you would love to pod K10.

I am starting to believe that the game should reward hours of gameplay. +1 KB for every hour of gameplay occurring during the last 7 days, with a cumulative maximum of +10 KB. How does that sound?

That's what I'm saying yo! Rewards for playing instead of punishments for not. When has there been a successful game that punishes you for not playing it?

Sorry, $#@! in-game awards for playing... that's not how this game works. Achievements and cosmetic @#(! is fine.
