I'm not trying to do anything, guys. I have no agenda. If Allegiance suddenly has a 500+ playerbase I'd be very happy, admit I was wrong, and play again too. All's I'm pointing out are the facts. I've seen this community do nothing but dwindle, albeit slowly, for 10 years. There has been no upward trend and, frankly, I don't see how you guys plan to arrest this dwindling. I see no plans, no goals, no organization, no readily agreed upon leadership. What am I missing? What does my "mediocre mind" not see?
You guys are acting like you have this grand scheme to revive the game back to 2005 and that I just need to "stfu" and let the proverbial phoenix rise from the ashes. What I see is a bunch of "TwoWeeks™" assertions with no results.
The game isn't completely dead yet. I'm well aware of that. I'm sure there will still be games of Allegiance played for a few more years. All's I'm saying is that 200 active players is a far cry from the 500 we had a few years back. Which, if I recall, was also considered a bit too low for the overall health of the community. The game as I knew it and liked it is gone. Right now. Gone. I'm not interested in 10v10's and the rare 15v15 at very specific times of day. So can you maybe see why that makes me say that the game is "dead"?
If you won't agree with me there, agree with me that things have changed. There are significantly fewer players, significantly fewer games, and significantly fewer updates to the game from when I last played as a regular (which, as I said, was 3 or so years ago). What does this say to you? What am I missing?
Also, to MrC, please stop trying to psychoanalyze me. Doesn't work, man. I get that you've been elected as some interim "leader" by some folks, but to be brutally honest I don't think you have the personality, creativity, or leadership skills to make anything happen. You seem like a nice guy, I've just never pegged you as a community leader. The reason we turned to Thalgor and TE and BV as our leaders was because they were men of action. They took the reigns and made things happen. They put in hours of countless work and gave us the results with little or no talk.

I think we've all put time into the community. Sorry if that was mean, but you seem to like to take a very blunt approach when talking to me so I just figured I'd say what I felt. I wish you guys all the best, but at some point the band's gotta pack up cause you can't stand upright on the deck anymore (to make another Titanic reference =P).MrChaos wrote:QUOTE (MrChaos @ Jan 8 2012, 03:14 PM) Fair enough Bacon you're welcome to you opinion and Im quite sure others share some version of them as well. * shrug * Btw I haven't put in the hours of those you mention but I have put in more then a little time and money myself, have you forgotten?

For the record, no one 'elected' MrC. He's just willing to have a go at it. I'm willing to let him try and to help him. Some other people are too. That's it.

current version r158 new beta as of jan 23 2012I suspect Mr. C knows what kind of snake pit the alleg community can be. Still he wants to try. Give him a fair chance, I propose.
I know Mr. C from the Solap era. He's willing to swim upstream. He has proven in the past to spend time and money on improving the alleg pleasure factor™. He seems accepted by the majority of the old timers and admins. He might get it moving, but not if we piss him off all the time, or chew on the legs of his chair.

I would've called her if you weren't a dirty whore and gave me her number

I'm sorry, Bacon, but I think you are wrong. I think we have everything in place to make it. I think the main problem lies with being diluted in a sea of MMO's. For a couple of days so far, I have dedicated myself to trying to get our game listed on Free MMO sites. It's incredible! There's a ton of them! And they all have @#(! loads of games listed! It's way more saturated then just a few years ago.
