askran was booted by vandal on a boot rampage. But not enough to be a boot resign since he won that game.

And askran does not have a newbie number.

Most comms will actually expect you to switch nicks and log back in. It's a convention that's been built up over the years.
You can make alternate nicknames on the ASGS login. On the log-in box, click tools and click on create a new account. Create one of these now, so you have it just in case. If you get Das Boot, simply log-in under your alternate name and you can rejoin the game.

Now, even though you think you did not get warning, chances are you might have. You may not have been reading the chat, however. My advice is to read the chat at all times. Adn, when reading the chat, the comm chat is in BOLD letters. Pay attention to the comm and try to do what he is asking. If he is yelling EVERYONE HOME, you better rip home (unless he/she has specifically instructed you personally to do something else, like deploy probes or bomb something. If you are in doubt, ask.

Don't get discouraged -- booting is not an everyday occurrence.

QUOTE SO....Re-Reading a few things, I'm thinking I shoulda zoomed in and started plugging away at those enemy near the base, even though I was way out of range ?? Or I shoulda been plugging away at those SF's, even though they were out of range, and only giving a second or two of sig ?[/quote]
Use F4 to check maximum range of your weapon. Check at what range your crosshairs turn 'on'. Notice discrepency.
