The game is absolutely incredible, the dev team has done an outstanding job working selflessly to improve the quality of allegiance. The concept of allegiance is incredible, which is personally why I believe I keep coming back to this game every time I "quit" or get frustrated with stupidity. I mean, what's cooler than flying your own spaceship around? What's even better is the squad capability. No matter what game I play, there is no better squad/clan/guild/whatever system than what I see here.
But like Pico and Sambasti put it, hostility and abusive dicks ruin the community, and it just so happens the community runs the game. When I play, I don't enjoy the constant bitching and taunting between players. I don't enjoy people just "giving up" and ruining the game for the rest of the team because they "don't want to play anymore". Then $#@!ing leave and let somebody else that wants to play replace you.
When all allegiance is is a troll fest, it gets stupid and pointless. So right off the bat, there's about 97% of the forums, and a good 75% of the game. The other 25% of the game is squad games and maybe a game or 2 after. Aside from that, it's really hard to join PUGs on the weekdays, or even weekends because $#@!, I'd rather go back to work and deal with the stupidity there rather than deal with it on a video game.
Like Pico said, one by one people stopped playing, and when a friend stops playing, there's really no point to keep at it. Hell, look at half of PK. It's a chain reaction of "screw this, let's find something else"
There's a good portion of the good side of the community; the people that actually encourage and motivate you to play.
Every time I see my signature with Nak's quote in there, I remember why this game isn't as great as it should be. It's true, I don't look forward to getting off work and coming straight back to a bunch of @#$%@#s on a video game. Nobody cares if you went 100-0 with whatever tech, want a $#@!ing cookie? Nobody cares about playing the game, it's all about padding stats.
For what it's worth, there's my 2 cents
