Ps. each time I get the boot I usually dont play for a week or months, why bother if they use boot as a scare tactic...no body likes hurt feelings, its a game.

I do not think the community will respond positively to this suggestion.

Doing something about booting is a great idea if you want to increase player-base.

I know, I know:
"Justified ... can just log in again ... serious gaming needs rule enforcement ... justified ... not every dickhead should ... justified ... whatever whatever"

Attracting new players is about what THEY perceive and not about what longterm veterans may know is "actually best" for the game.

It will take a new player a while to figure out all he should know about booting before not taking it to heart so much that he might as well quit right away.
Apparently it took me over 60 games (leaderboard says so) to get this issue settled for myself.

Fact is:

Usually a boot is perceived as a unkind act and will most likely be interpreted as being unwanted.

This is especially true for players that do not yet understand the underlying game-mechanics and communital implications of such a boot.
These players are typically Newbies who are the sole souce of playerbase growth.

Instead of quitting the game for a long period of time, just think about what you did to make a commander angry, and try your best not to do it again.

I haven't been booted for months, and the last time I did kinda deserved it. (Then again... that miner would have been long dead by the time I got a nan to it, so I used an interceptor)
If the booting bothers you, don't fly for the commanders who aren't afraid to use it.

I only see bullies that still play and prevent newbies and vets who don't play anymore to enjoy games , and to prevent any drastic changes to happen.

I proposed a simple plan 4 years ago to bring back fun and more players to the game:

- remove the hiders, 1 callsign/per account
- change the way the 'boot' system work so it's less powerful and adapted to a single callsign system.
- 'grace period' for newbies until they reach rank 5 : they give no points when podded, they get special escape pods that are 3x faster, they keep their KB when killed. (or even no escape pod at all so they don't waste game time floating in pods).
- change core timing and prices so games are quicker (faster pace).
- revamp the tutorial missions and the intro site.
- revamp the points system (not the ranking system just points earned per game, lower emphasis on '#kills').
- permaban the dozen bullies who plague this game

you may like it or not but it's a plan. you may want part of it or all of it. but at least it's a plan.
Current management has no plan. nada.

The bullies have won, enjoy playing with yourselves for the few months left.

Yesterday I booted you cause you didn't read or respond to chat and then you started issuing contradictory orders to my team. Read the chat and play the game as a team or be booted.

1st game a day gives you reading ability.
Every further game gives you the right to make one post.
