RE: "it seems late now" - it is not. I put the poll up to sorta kick the can forward a bit, not to declare an end to new options. I like how the poll has rekindled input/etc.

The bandwidth definitely has gone up this week, so whatever end result we have should definitely be smaller.

There's no doubt in my mind that we will end up with a superb homepage as a result of all of this.

I think the problem here is that you cannot design a webpage with a democracy

I wish people would come to their senses and we can all settle on something that's just a modification of the elegant (in its simplicity) design that pook made until an actual designer can have a go at it.. otherwise we're going to get something that looks amateurish and gaudy.

If we took pooks design, add an embedded video, add some more information, maybe using some cool javascript tabs.. we'd wind up with space's contribution from page 1, and it would look 10x better than anything else proposed by anyone else.

I'm sorry, but one of the main points against Pook's page is that it has too much text on it. Wall of texts are better placed on the wiki, where they can be brought up to date without TE's assistance.

I am an actual designer(Media, more than webpages, but i do both), if you want to move forward then get with the times, not replicate the old page and add a video. If you dont want to get with the times, then don't. Pooks page was good when it was made, but it lacks the glam and glitz that attracts today's market.

Having a video is a must.I like AEM's version because the rich tasty flavones of deep 3D action will bag us new players.

It was just a background that bacon made, the background, as has been stated will be changed if needed.

It's purple because the background is purple and the background is a placeholder because of the lack of good Allegiance backgrounds.

Then again, who needs a background?

About the background:

We should either come up with a good tiled background image or use just a plain background color.
