https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Badminton
"The beginnings of badminton can be traced to the mid-1800s in British India, where it was created by British military officers stationed there.[4] Early photographs show Englishmen adding a net to the traditional English game of battledore and shuttlecock. "

Also one of whom I met when I happened to be all the bloody way across the country, which was fun. Also I played badminton with another.
We also got high

I didn't say a
total lack of camaraderie.
Frankly that post in itself I find as argumentative.
You
know that I was speaking generally. Clearly everyone doesn't hate everyone, however, most people hate many people and are quite vocal about it, and that is an very large issue.
I've also shared many beers with at least half a dozen of the people here, spend hundred of hours chatting with hundreds of other players, however just because someone does similar doesn't mean they don't also contribute to the acrimony.
Some of the nicest people (to some people) in history needed to be shot. Many dictators and murderers have had friends and family that I'm sure they've treated really nice, it's the lowest common denominator of their interactions with people that makes them who they are. I'm sure many evil people they've murdered thousands of innocents loved their mothers and were always there for their friends.
