Leaderboard displays areound 40 people. We have 40 players. Max I saw playing in a game was 6 vs 6. And you are discussing Senate and squad rules. Really...
QUOTE Whoever wants to make Allegiance survive and grow needs to get New players in somehow, and get them into fun games which will make them want to stay.[/quote]
I've seen somewhere here "Markating Team"
So...
Build a fb profile. Tweet about updates. Put a big "LAST UPDATED 27.08.1013" on mainpage. Post screenshots from the upcoming Draconium. Does Alleg have moddb page? Indiedb? Is it updated? Find a big gamerportal, gather ALL new stuff that was added to Alleg since the source release and do a guestpost/article on how things went from zero to hero. Bring back FactionWars and tell people that they can fight for corrupted GigaCorp or for bringing the order into the Universe with IC. Find someone who can do hi res textures from the current ones. Just the textures. We'll upload them ourself. They don't have to be Industrial Light&Magic quality. Put it on front page. Update the Wiki to the level of current chanelog. Put the "We use mumble" on frontpage. Add mumble to installer. Add music to installer. Since it can be d/l separately, why can't it be inside installer? Post that updates everywhere.
EDIT - frontpage is rather BAD. Cluttered, not clear. Intense gameplay to Strong community (this means vets right?

) is below the fold. The Community page is, on the other hand, rather good. We have forum, wiki, leader, squads etc. "Latest blog entries" is total CRAP unless you change it to "Latest private blog entries by our members" or sth like that. Mainpage, center screen is for Alleg blog entries. Hey - hires here, squad game here, dos and don'ts of pug game there.
This game isn't 12 years old (bad vibes) - "this game has been updated continuously by our strong community for last 12 years" (good vibes).
WASD is default for movement almost EVERYWHERE. Couldn't the installer contain key config file with WASD already set?
Newbie training is nonexistant. This game has learning curve pictured accurately - its extremely complicated. This is what we need to have

BTW- the part after "What the hall happened?" is a pro-speedrun. Q1 was awesome :S
Don't boot noobs for flying in circles.
BTW: I'm not pointing fingers to people in any way BUT I am pointing fingers to priorities. Imagine this is a game that you want to sell. The marketing is the same for free and for paid.
