I know I shouldn't laugh, but seriously.

Everyone that argues for Gay Marriage is arguing for more government and a decrease in personal liberty.

Why you may ask? Well Marriage, in the US at least, is used for nothing more than discrimination against single people for taxation purposes. The government has no real business marrying ANYONE. A far better thing for people to be advocating is the ELIMINATION of state/government recognition of marriage. This also eliminates the discrimination that comes from taxes for married couples vs single people.

The only thing that the government should provide for, is a legal document that gives a couple inheritance rights in the event of death. THAT IS IT.

Want to get married? GO to a church, have your cousin Larry marry you. It doesn't matter, because there won't be any official governmental recognition.

While I agree with you, it's far more likely that we'll get gay marriage passed on a federal level than we'll get state-sponsored marriage abolished and left only up to religious institutions with no extra tax benefits for heterosexual married couples.

The Federal government must be the first to not recognize marriage. Otherwise it will create a disparity in the taxing of various states citizens which will prevent any state from abolishing it.

[Opens Wire Metal Door]

That would be against the government's best interests.

[Place peanut butter on pedal]

The first and foremost of which is to secure operating capital to ensure that government can be run in the manner under which it has become accustomed to.

[Props box up with stick]

Without a constant (and increasing) stream of tax payers, we can't hope to keep all of these social entitlement programs running smoothly.

[Ensures loop is raised slightly on the twigs]

The marriage tax break just helps the baby mill keep on runnin'.

[Scurries behind tree, giggling]

I like the top rated comment on this video:

"So... The big fat ass is sitting with an 800 Call-in number with 'Christie on the Line' banner at bottom of screen. Someone calls & asks a question & he says 'It's none of your business'? What a piece of @#(!. Why is he even taking questions? This guy took a helicopter to his kids baseball game? I don't care. I have a problem with what he did AFTER he got out of the helicopter. He got in a car & rode 300 FEET to the game. You ever been behind a fat $#@! on the stairs & hear them wheezing"
