Why we REALLY need playerbase growth
When i started playing over 3 years ago now, there were a lot more games and the comunity was alot more active. its a bit slower now, but i still love this game. most of the post here are very good and the ideas ecellent. like a noob said, he liked the game because of space so do i, and as every one agrees this game has a steep learninig curve. Allegiance is a SPECIAL game for SPECIAl people. This game is not for every one. that said here is my view on whats need to to attract more playes besides every thing that has already been said so far. We have to incresce the amount of time the game is actually being played versus the time that players sit around waiting for a game to start. The lul before games have almost become apart of the game and no doubt some people proberly feel it is a part, but know one who has not been around the game for a long time is going to be interested in that. many new people get distracted from the lobby just waiting for a game to start and the fact that there already is limited amount of games to choose from only worsens the problem. Noobs need games, lots of availabe games in progress so that they can learn. remember there is already a steep learning curve to contend with. From my experiance i use to be wondering wtf was taking so long to get the game started and there were more games to be had back then. so imagine what the poor chap (noob) has to put up with now and thats if he can get selected to team. the wait can be just to long. we have to find a way to reduce it , or get more games going on the servers.

Why the hell are the boot whiners fleeing here? Nobody gets booted for not knowing what to do. They get booted for not knowing what to do when they obviously should know better than to do the stupid thing they've done. I help actual newbies when I can spare the time and attention, but I have no sympathy or patience for an 8 or 9 who decides to go scouting in a lt int.

Seconding this. Newbies tend to be really gung-ho about getting another game in so they can get better, and they get pissed off pretty quick when their first game ends...only to be followed by two straight hours of vets discussing their favorite brand of anal lube (with an occasional, unanswered call of "Who wants to be commander?"). That plus the tendency for the game to absolutely die for lack of commanders pretty much anytime outside of peak hours means that we get basically a 0% retention rate for newbies who play outside of the 6pm EST-9pm EST "primetime" period on weekdays. Some days, Alleg is basically dead as early as 11pm EST - I don't see how you can expect to keep newbies that way.

Seriously that's against RoC or ToS or whatever the hell Allegiance has so bring it up and whoever did it should be in some degree of trouble. In the same way that booting provides incentive to be less useless, getting someone banned for being an @#$%@# provides incentive for them... to well not be an @#$%@#.
Oh, and not to sound skeptical, but I find it hard to believe that you, as the bomber of a run, were ever booted for not nanning yourself.
This Iagree >.>
Lutra - new players should not be booted at all unless they are actively harming their team.
