This is the new one:


The old one, instead of having four separate meshes for the engines, instead had a single big box covering all four, with additional meshes covering the wings. This made the ship much easier to hit from behind and slightly above.

Of course, had the hitbox been made the same way all of the hitboxes for the original factions were made, it would be a big box with the corners at the tips of the wings, like the Dreg int. Some people think they should all be made that way, for consistency's sake.

That's beautifully done!

I can say for sure the Dreg int needs it badly.
Something ain't right if you can pod a dreg heavy int with an IC basic interceptor and come out with more than half your hull.

Maybe we should lower the bios con and miner prizes together with the payday. Especially on-treasures-off settings bios is dead when last miner dies.

If they did lower the cost of bios miners, should they also take longer to build? If not twice as long, maybe 25%-50% longer?
I mean, by default, bios miners are already the quickest to produce at 60 seconds. The typical build times being 90s, while IC and TF have 120s build times but their miners have a unique ability.

The problem is, every time we change a hitbox, we change faction balance, and we're reluctant to do that unnecessarily. We only changed GT because I had happened to make one as part of writing a tutorial, and we wanted to buff GT, both in general and the early game specifically. Sure, you could increase the fighter's size to compensate, or just change everything, but you end up playing a game where either everything is harder to hit or many of the small ships are the size of a small bomber.

Honestly I can't figure out why people complain about the IC fig specifically when, as far as I can tell, the Giga fig is just as bad.

I see I have some work to do. Luckily I only have until wednesday left on the current job.

I'll make a case to the CC crew about the IC fig.

Got to a game in vs. GT. The change in the hitbox is very good indeed. Nice. :thumbsup:

Omicron hive SBs are still pretty nasty, even with hammer 1.
