QUOTE (Shautsky)Jimen, if you want to actually help others as your constantly bragging about..How about YOU update the Wiki page for ripcording? That way you can personally put the information into the wiki page that you feel is missing.
Have you ever tried editing the wiki? Here, I'll wait. What's that? You can't* find the "edit this page" button? Yep. Why did you think there was an entire forum dedicated to discussing wiki changes? Here, I'll tell you - it's because maybe thirty people are allowed to actually edit wiki pages (or even post on the discussion pages), everyone else is restricted from any and all modifications.
*I don't know whether or not you're allowed to edit the wiki but since you're Shautsky I think I can guess
My first few weeks
QUOTE Yeah, much of it was helpful. Although as a beginner, the last ship I want to fly is a scout. I understand they have a vital role and all, but honestly they are the least fun to fly at least from my perspective. Actually, I think I have acquired an unhealthy hatred of them.
hmm... ok... i guess this isn't much of a fastball but here i go: which kind of ship do you most prefer and why? what do you enjoy doing with that ship most? How is this activity best used for the benefit of the team?

LOL, you only have to have like 30 posts to edit the wiki. Unfortunately you haven't gotten that many yet
Edit: You can also send TE ~$25 and get supporter+ and you can edit the wiki w/o the post requirement. I did that b4 I had enough posts since I don't post much (especially back then) and wanted to make some edits.

It's 50 posts you need. You should be able to edit the wiki.Jimen wrote:QUOTE (Jimen @ Aug 4 2010, 06:00 PM) Have you ever tried editing the wiki? Here, I'll wait. What's that? If not, I'm sure if you were keen to help, a simple PM to an TE/TB/juckto would allow you to edit it, like most of the community can.
Huh, looks like an odd privilege glitch related to my negative postcount, then - I can PM people but I can't edit the wiki. I assumed it was limited to select users (SLs and members of certain zones) since they're just about the only people who ever make wiki edits according to a quick sampling of a few pages' History sections.notjarvis wrote:QUOTE (notjarvis @ Aug 4 2010, 01:41 PM) It's 50 posts you need. EDIT: That said, Shautsky doesn't have enough posts to edit it either, so my point still stands

I'm sure an administrator can go in and change it on a per-user basis.Jimen wrote:QUOTE (Jimen @ Aug 4 2010, 12:47 PM) Huh, looks like an odd privilege glitch related to my negative postcount, then - I can PM people but I can't edit the wiki. I would hope so . . . .
It might be your postcount permissions but the first thing to check is that you're logged in to the wiki. I know it's supposed to be linked to your forum login (and uses same user/pass) but randomly it seems to log me out of the wiki part for no reason.
Log in on the wiki is on the top right hand side iirc. Well worth a try.
And yes, if people are complaining that the content of the wiki is not good enough, there is absolutely no reason not to go and edit it. You can't add pictures or other files but you can use existing pictures and a wiki mod will happily upload a picture for you if needs be.
The wiki is a prime example of why the responsibilities in this community are held by only a few people. Everyone can edit the wiki but most people don't bother and just whine instead.
