How to embed the stuff

This file here is a test I have made. Using a stock Dreamweaver template and js. I cheated as stated above and renamed the mp4 movie to FLV just to test the new flash. Seems to work well enough. Just click the html file.

Keep in mind: very rough and no narration
the player stops buffering when i pause it to allow it to buffer without playing a little bit of the video then pausing, then playing a little bit more.

so i can either let it play through once with it playing half a second every so often, or i can pause it and it never loads.

better if it continues to load while paused like youtube does, so you can pause it until its loaded enough to let it play right through in one go with no pauses.
(basically it should be downloading the video constantly, when playing or not)

couple of comments on the video (better to get them on the rough ones so you know what to avoid on the proper ones)
the start of the video says training mission 8, but you clearly select training mission 7.
there are long periods where nothing happens on screen, might be ok if there is narration there.
the time speeding up looks a bit silly, but it is ok to shorten bits where not much is happening (again ok if there was an explanation that time was being sped up)
i would comment more, but the video is only 1/3 the way through because it is downloading really really slowly (it keeps stopping downloading - watching network bandwidth use in task manager)

lol you are missing the point.

The content is mostly irrelevant. Yeah there are some pauses where there would be narration. Really doesn't matter for this as I mostly just meant this to demo size/quality of the actual video. And the nanning mission is technically mission 8, just the old mission 7 button is no longer available. I put the a lot of the video on x2 speed because this is just a demo.

I'm probably not going to use that player. Hopefully I can get the one posted earlier in this thread to work.

i got the point, but

also, all the comments on the video were added after the comments on the player, which was the main content of the post, the video content were secondary comments added as after thoughts

well, after leaving it to finish downloading the movie, it gets to about 3/7 along the progress bar just after starting to fly past the op after finishing nanning it, then the movie ends.
is this the end of the movie? i cant seek past that part, even though it is only about 3/7 along the bar

Funny that but having watched it a second time now (7pm) I do not seem to have any troubles with it. I watched it this morning 7am Uk time and it loaded fine. Except I think there was no music on it then. I was 1/2 to 2/3 through it when it complete loading both times.

Waiting for other peeps demo's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's be having them then sweethearts!

So where are we at ladies?

I have downloaded megui and I am having a few teething troubles with it when I try to play back the files in flash. They either have sound or pictures but I am yet to get the two together. Alas, hopefully it is something that I will not have to think about when it comes to rendering time. (BTW Immz it wanted me to upgrade my framework to the latest!)

Since no topics have been handed down to practice on I will continue my little project "The Wildcards do Riverdancing starring the two step phenom MCW!" /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

I hope apathy has not set in already. /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />

Sorry been lazy. I'll go ahead and cut the "master" wmv of the video I made down to 20-30 seconds and host it. I will find out the file size if I convert it to FLV. * (by tonight, trying to get a video done for Infantry right now, lol)

Later I'll likely also record a 800x600 (or less) video to see what kind of things I can come up with without downscaling the video resolution.

Sorry took me so long. So busy. But yeah here is a small 20 second "master" (quality 100 video I give to the flash encoder) clip in wmv.

http://www.allegtraining.com/prototype/prototypetest.wmv

At the same quality as the FLV I hosted it is 2,412 KB

Still getting juicy in-game videos (constructor hunts, Galving with SR scouts) and I'll probably upload them during the next week.

Nice and clear that clip AEM. I am still working (when I can) on the flash play back.

2nd go using mp4. If you are not seeing these players then you will need to update your flash to the latest version 9,0,115,0. Again just click on the html file. (I used the renaming trick to get it to play again)

I will download Flash and write the actionscript for it to play nicely later this week. ttfn.
