Thanks guys. My wife got the rest of the 'external' hardware our of her right foot. She had 6 percutaneous (sp?) taken out of her right foot on Thursday. Now she has approximately 4 weeks of waiting and healing before she can put weight on her feet. The doctor said that her pelvis, heal and femur had all healed nicely and that, were it not for the injuries to her feet, she could be weight bearing now.
Theoretically, she is to remain at the facility she had been in since mid December during that time, and then for an addtional 3 or 4 weeks while she undergoes intensive physical therapy. However, I am investigating whether or not we could take her home. It is questionable with her being non weight bearing and in a wheelchair right now, but we are gthering information to see how we might be able to do this.
My younger daughter is walking without a crutch now -- and she hopes to return to atheletics in about 2 months (per Doctor's orders). My older daughter is doing well -- and has gotten back into her high school routine quite nicely. As for me -- i am making progress too.
I have about a 10% increase in mobility range of my shoulder in two weeks (although it still hurts like heck to try to raise it above shoulder level). My wrist fractures have healed, but i have torn ligaments in my wrist and little finger that I am rehabbing. Hopefully, rehab works on torn ligaments and torn labrums.

I'm sure your Dr's told you this, but ligaments heal really slowly because they have to rely on diffusion to receive nutrients from the blood (and diffusion is OMGWTF slow... for instance, w/ just diffusion alone, it would take a single particle of 02 in the air YEARS to travel across a room) - meaning there are very few (or no) capillaries that deliver blood to that type of tissue.
That's my physiology major-in-progress tidbit for the thread!!! lol =P
Hope you all get better real fast bud, that sounds like a very difficult time for everybody. Really glad nobody was killed!

Thanks for the 'encouragement' on the ligament stuff there bacon. I guess eating more bacon will not help.
As for the no one being killed -- you and me both. When I saw our vehicle and how badly damaged it was and how easily any of us could have been killed or suffered traumatic spinal or head injuries -- well -- i am thankful.
